Greetings to you all, and may He keep us in His grace and peace....EXAM DREAMS AND THE SPARROW
I actually had one of these dreams about a month ago, where I was re-registering for some classes I had failed in the long-forgotten past at the university, and I always wake up with "oh no, now what do I have to learn (or re-learn) and sure enough along comes some lesson in the things of the flesh, or pride rearing its ugly head or some other predicament of the world the flesh and the devil....
Our Father in heaven provides so many wonderful "parables in nature" if we would but observe....like the scorpion and spider sharing the same hole-a couple of people I actually saw in action myself.....
But I am reminded now of what some years ago I read about the sparrow. Apparently after this bird builds its nest, if you destroy the nest it will build its nest in the same place. If you destroy the nest again, it will build the nest again in the same place. But if you destroy its nest the third time, behold, it will build its nest in a higher place. (Always higher, not lower). Jesus said God knew every sparrow that fell, so God does love this particular bird.
Now a nest is made of wood, hay and stubble. Is that not some of the material we build into our "house" which will be burned at the judgment of Christ?
God shows us that once we can destroy this nest three times before we finally get it.
A few years back I had a bird who built a nest in the exhaust of an upstairs room gas heater, so I had to get up on a ladder and get in there and get the whole thing out. While there, hey why not, I decided I would examine all the things that the bird had built into the nest. Wow - just where it found all that stuff is a great mystery - one great long piece of yarn wound round and round seemingly forever which sort of acted as a foundation for all the other bits of things natural and manmade.
Likewise, we must examine all the wood, hay and stubble built into our storehouse of doctrines, and burn it up before the Lord has to do it for us?
Or at least if we're going to build this stuff in our nest, at least do it in a higher place !
Just musing.........YSIC Arlene
