"Prayer Request"

My son, who is a Computer Engineer, lives in Jacksonville, FL and recently lost his job with CSX along with 325 others due to a work force reduction.  He had been there three years.  He bought a house a year ago thinking his job was permanent. He has two boys and his wife home schools them with a Christian education.

He is a wonderful Christian.  He was raised in church and became a Christian at a very young age and has never done the things that causes grief to so many parents.

He was laid-off a couple months ago and has sent out numerous resumes; however,   computer jobs are very scarce. He has worked with many Unix systems  (Sun, HP, Digial/Compaq, IBM p-series, and Linux) over the past decade.

He is getting very discouraged.  Please pray for him to get a job soon.

Below is an e-mail he sent to our extended family today.

Thank you all so very much from the bottom of my heart for your prayers
on our behalf.

I will admit that I have been struggling with doubt and discouragement over the last 2 weeks.  As it is, we are going to face the difficult decision to put the house up for sale if nothing comes up by July 1st.

Currently, the job market here is DEAD DEAD DEAD.  I have had to send resumés to just about anywhere there is a job. The last batch included New Hampshire and Seattle.

Mom and Dad are praying for us;  All my family are praying for us; our church staff is praying for us.  Penny has a peace about it that I wish I had.
Nevertheless, I will soldier on with my prayer and Bible studies in the
meantime.
