It is refreshing to have someone illuminate on the error of Magic.

I teach my children that Magic is an effective barrier to having a personal relationship with our Lord.  The aim and intent of Magic is to manipulate God to our will.  It is the basis for all of the ancient religions.  Christ's "Good News" was our release from Magic so that we might have a personal relationship with God.

Everything that we use in spiritual practice such as the bible, the cross, prayer closet, Sunday church service, ect. can be used to bend our will to God. It can also be used for the Magic of trying to bend God's will to ours.  (Ex:  If I read the bible for 20 minutes a day, then God will keep evil thoughts from me.)
 

This is why perfect prayer is found in the heartfelt "Thy will be done."
