The Quartet to meet in New York May 4th

A Haaretz article indicates the international Quartet of the United States, Russia, the United Nations, and the European Union is going to meet on May 4th in New York. Why? To try to give new impetus to the road map to peace, according to the European Union's top diplomat, Dr. Javier Solana.

Although these meetings have taken place on a number of occasions, there is something new being spoken of officially that has been rumored a possibility for some time now.

Excerpt from the Haaretz article:

"We are ready to cooperate on that if it's done properly - politically, economically, and any other manner - even if it's necessary" to help the situation "with people on the ground," Solana said, without elaborating.
What kind of people on the ground is Solana referring to? Could he be referring to European peacekeeping forces? If so, things are progressing very rapidly, in my opinion.

The prophet Daniel, as seen in Daniel 9:26-27, foretells a leader of Roman descent will confirm a covenant with many between Israel and her enemies seven years in length.

Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words indicates the word 'confirm' means "to make firm, establish, make secure."

If the EU's Solana is referring to peacekeeping forces being placed in Gaza in the aftermath of Israel's withdrawal after the implementation of Ariel Sharon's Gaza pullout plan, it is likely we are rapidly approaching the moment when Daniel's prophecy will be fulfilled, especially when we consider Daniel's prophecy of the Roman prince confirming his covenant "with many." Why do I say that? Because the Quartet of the United Nations, the United States, Russia and the European Union is representative of many, many, many peoples.

Is it almost time for those of us who have placed our trust in Jesus Christ to be airlifted out of a world that has forgotten its God? It's certainly beginning to look that way, isn't it?
