Encounter at Blockbusters

After my "encounter at the salad bar" message yesterday, a reader sent me the below story about her encounter at Blockbusters. I thought it would inspire you to similarly step out in faith for Jesus, and see Him work.

Last year I had a similar experience. As I was checking out a video at Blockbuster a woman came in with a cast on her foot and in great pain. As she moved towards the back of the store, I felt a real compassion for her. I left my video with the checkout lady and found the lady in pain. I asked her if I could pray for her and she said yes. I did, then I got my video and left.

Two days later when I took the video back the same checkout lady recognized me and asked what I had done to the lady with the cast. I told her that I just prayed for the pain to go away in the "Name of Jesus." I asked her why she asked me in the first place and she said that after I had left the cast lady came up to her all excited and told her that she didn't have any more pain.

The checkout lady said that she didn't know that Christians could pray in the Name of Jesus and the Lord would heal, comfort etc. She said she had been told it was not for today. Well, needless to say, she and I had a great time talking about the Lord Jesus and how He is here today and moving through His people.
