"Ascension Day"

Dear Brother in Christ John Tng,

just like to greet you, thank you for your ministry! Praise the Lord!

sometimes waiting, sometimes hoping, sometimes doubting,….

are we close…?

…when this evening (May 20, 2004) at the Day of Ascension (according to the Church Calendar), … here in South-West Germany at our place, in our little valley, sun went down, disappearing behind the mountains (the foothills of the “Black Forest”)… all at once I saw the beautiful sunbeams and clouds….Praise the Lord!!!

Are we close…….????

Yes we are,… Lord help us, make us ready….by Your Mercy and Grace…Thank you Jesus!

I thought that I should quickly take a photo and mail it to a few saints also waiting…

“Therefore comfort one another…”: Jesus is coming again soon …as He said at the Day of Ascension then, almost 2000 years ago…

it is written!

Acts 1, 8………and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10: And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11: Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
12: Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

 it is written!!!!

(by the way, Sabbath day’s journey….2000 steps…2000 years…?)

 it is written!!!

Revelation 1,7: Behold, he cometh with clouds;….

 it is written!!!

1 Thessalonians 4, 15: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18: Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Praise the Lord! Amen! Our Lord bless you and keep you and us! He will finish His Work by His Grace!

greetings yr bro friedrich/germany

In our hymn-book (German language) we have a few songs also with English text translation and here is one I like to add:

(John F. Ellerton, 1870 / Clement Cotterill Scholefield 1874)

The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended, / The darkness falls at thy behest; / To thee our morning hymns ascended, / Thy praise shall sanctify our rest.

We thank thee that thy Church, unsleeping / While earth rolls onward into light, / Through all the world her watch is keeping, / And rests not now by day or night.

As o’er each continent and island / The dawn leads on another day, / The voice of prayer is never silent, / Nor dies the strain of praise away.

The sun that bids us rest is waking / Our brethren ‘neath the western sky, / And hour by hour fresh lips are making / Thy wondrous doings heard on high.

So be it, Lord; thy throne shall never, / Like earth’s proud empires, pass away: / Thy kingdom stands, and grows forever, / Till all thy creatures own thy sway.
