"deliverence from bad thoughts"
Recently I wrote about some of the deception
Satan uses to defeat Christians. One of the tricks is planting bad thoughts
into our mind and making us feel that we own them and that we are bad and
rejected by God because of our bad thoughts.
First of all we must realize that we were not saved because
we have good thoughts, so therefore we can not be unsaved because of a
bunch of bad thoughts. The bible says if any man be in Christ he is a new
creation, old things have passed away, behold all things become new. That
means our old thoughts and ways have no right to rule over us. Many of
us begin doubting God's word when the bad thoughts return, the devil brings
in many doubtful thoughts and we no longer are as confident with our salvation.
Thats when he starts wearing us down. We don't believe we are a new creature
because of the bad thoughts returning that may turn to action.
The thoughts of the righteous are right. Prov. 12:5.
We are the righteousness of Christ when we are born again. So any thoughts
that are contrary to that or argue against that are not from us and therefore
must be from the world or the devil. We do not have to own those thoughts.
John 15:3 says you are already clean because of the words I have spoken
unto you. However the bible does not speak about our mind being saved but
it does say that the mind needs to be renewed. Your mind is not who you
really are. You do not need to feel condemned by bad thoughts. You can
disclaim any bad thoughts that come into your mind as not being from you
because scripture says we are now righteous in God's eyes. We can
order the thought to move out. The Lord says not to believe every spirit
but test the spirits, John 4:1. If the thought that comes in your mind
is contrary to God's word disown it, do not feel condemned by it.
That enough for now.
God bless
