Doves:The "REAL" message is the perceived one!!!
Children are the ones who are more easily damaged by wrong /
unchecked actions / deeds of others. The "messages" received and
imprinted into children seem to be the hardest to get rid of. It seems
that some denominations are worse than others in "not minding"
hurting people's feelings. I have my own ideas about this but, right
now, won't mention names. Besides, MOST "perceived" (KEEP IN
MIND..."PERCEIVED" IS "REAL" to most people who haven't "learned"
discernment...that would include young Christians and children) damage
is probably done by parents or guardians or maybe "friends" and there are
NO perfect denominations. Some "children" are SO DAMAGED that they retreat into extremism as
adults just to find an EXCUSE NOT TO "SPIRITUALLY DEAL" WITH HURT!!!
But once we are grown up, we need to take some responsibility on ourselves
NOT to let these callous, unfeeling ways become a part of us. But, hardest
of all, if we've been injured by others, we have to deal with our own hurts from
the past...and sometimes almost constantly.I'm sure that it would be the Lord's choice that we DIDN'T have to deal with
so much hurt but that is just a part of the fallen world that we are in. Religion
shouldn't hinder...it should help...but unless the person in the leadership role
has dealt with these issues in his or her own life, I doubt that they will "really"
be all that much effective.Matthew 7
3 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and
pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your
brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there
is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of
your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from
your brother's eye.But the "perceived" message is the one that people REALLY receive.
That is the one that goes down VERY DEEP into our spirits. It is
the one that speaks, "God DOES OR DOESN'T REALLY LOVE ME!!!"
Only listening over and over to the Holy Spirit can deliver someone from
these perceptions gained over time. I don't believe most people are
willing to "DO" spiritually what it takes to get rid of the untruth that
has worn down their spirits saying, "God DOESN'T REALLY LOVE ME!!!"
Maybe that's why Jesus became SO VERY INDIGNANT when His
disciples had rebuked the "children" from coming to Jesus.Matthew 19
13 Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his
hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those
who brought them.
14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." 15 When
he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.Because I have to almost constantly "deal" with "issues" FELT OR
PERCEIVED OR GAINED from the past...then I have HAD TO DEAL
with the Word maybe more than normal. That IS NOT BAD because I
have HAD TO regurgitate probably more Truth / Word than most. God
has allowed former built up "problems" in me to charge my batteries
(so to speak) in such a way that I DO NOT TRUST TOO MANY!!!
Actually...that is not a bad asset. Jesus didn't give or "commit" Himself
to man. Why? Because HE KNEW what was "IN" man.John 2
24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew
all men.
25 He did not need man's testimony about man, for he knew what
was in a man.Isaiah 29
23 When they see among them their children,
the work of my hands,
they will keep my name holy;
they will acknowledge the holiness of the Holy One of Jacob,
and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
24 Those who are wayward in spirit will gain understanding;
those who complain will accept instruction."I believe that is why my former prophecy partner from South Carolina
and I got along so well. She, deep down, was intelligent enough NOT
to give over many decisions to "others". Now if we aren't careful, we
can let this get out of hand but she studied MUCH MORE DILIGENTLY
than any church member (she and I didn't have REAL strong commitments
to any churches during our studies together). Early on I perceived this
asset in her and we got along fine (most of the time). We were willing,
I think, to put up with some of our differences in order to achieve the
higher goal of digging into the truth of the rapture - THE "REAL" AND
"ONLY" thing that both of our spirits seem to YEARN for. Sort of like
a caterpillar which sheds its cocoon...we let old ideas that didn't hold
up easily shed away and went on into new ideas. Although we went
through times of EXTREME hope that the rapture HAD TO BE on a
certain date...once that date passed....we would pick ourselves up and
go on "KNOWING" that there is just nothing else in this world worth looking
for quite as much. We don't, to this day, agree on EVERYTHING...but we
DO agree on MANY, MANY BASICS and still are close friends. One reason that I like and "feel" that God has used fivedoves is that is
casts a pretty broad "net" over those who are dealing with the same
issues as we were dealing with from 1997-2001, our years of pretty
diligent study and "search" together. And, just like my prophecy partner
and I, we DON'T always agree here at fivedoves. There have been VERY
few times that John Tng didn't post something I wrote and, in the end,
I was glad he was there to "filter" things out. Without his moderation...
this forum wouldn't be what it is.Philippians 4
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.Because I have been "hurt" possibly more deeply than others in my past,
I have "perceived" (perhaps wrongly) that when someone has disagreed
or come against me it that it was "personal" and I want to REALLY STRIKE
BACK!!! John Tng's "moderation" is, therefore, VERY necessary in those
cases when we let some of our "wrong" emotions come into play. (By the
way, Philippians 4:5 is the ONLY place in the King James Version of the
Bible where that word, moderation, is used.)I believe that I have gained a "little bit" of "moderation" since I have been writing
on fivedoves but we all probably have many "issues" that need (maybe constant)
"dealing" with (I KNOW I still have!!!). This is just a letter with some thoughts
on this.GOD BLESS!!!
