"An end to the daily sacrifice!"

Webster's Bible Translation
And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

New Living Translation (©2007)
"From the time the daily sacrifice is stopped and the sacrilegious object that causes desecration is set up to be worshiped, there will be 1,290 days.

New International Version (©2011)
He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him."

Holman Christian Standard Bible (©2009)
He will make a firm covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator."

Matthew 24:15-20 New International Version (NIV)

“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.

Mark 13 New International Version (NIV)

When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ standing where it does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! Pray that this will not take place in winter, because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now—and never to be equaled again. If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.

Israel’s Veterinary Services will not authorize the planned public ritual sacrifice of a goat in honor of Passover this year, Veterinary Services representative Zohar Dvorkin said Thursday.

Jewish groups dedicated to the Temple Mount and Temple renewal are planning the sacrifice as a reminder of what Passover looked like in Temple times. The ritual slaughter is to take place in Jerusalem, in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood opposite the Temple Mount.

The organizations planning the sacrifice were unpleasantly surprised at the Veterinary Services’ response. The Veterinary Services has authorized previous sacrifices in honor of Passover, including one held in Jerusalem last year.

“After preventing us from fulfilling the mitzvah [commandment] of the Passover sacrifice in its proper place, in violation of the law and of a Supreme Court ruling, now the authorities are plotting to stop us from even learning about the way the mitzvah is to be performed,” they accused.

“This stands in contrast to the approach to events surrounding the Muslim sacrifice holiday [Eid ul-Adha], during which thousands of sheep and cattle are sacrificed freely in Jerusalem and across the country,” they added.

Organizers said that the sacrifice would take place as planned on the Thursday before Passover with or without government approval.

In the meantime, they plan to file a lawsuit asking that the Veterinary Services be forced to authorize the event, “a tradition that has been ongoing for several years.”

Here are my thoughts on all of this. Daniel 11:31 - His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation." I believe that the "temple fortress" is referring to the Church of the Nativity. It looks just like a fortress. It was desecrated 11 years ago. It was desecrated on the 6th day of Unleavened Bread that year, April 2, 2002. This year the 6th day of Unleavened Bread is March 31. The Lord is pointing us back to this event in this prophecy to show us:

1. Where the "temple" is that the abomination takes place at - Church of the Nativity. Armed forces rose up and desecrated the temple fortress on April 2, 2002.

2. To point us to the 6th day of Unleavened Bread as the start of the desolation taking place 11 years later.

He is pointing us back to the day that this event happened. He's saying to remember the armed forces that desecrated the temple fortress on the 6th day of Unleavened Bread and the daily communion that was stopped at that time. Then, the next MAJOR event that happens at this temple fortress is when the Antichrist goes to the Holy Place (grotto), where he does not belong, at the time that the daily sacrifice is once again stopped. I believe they will stop this sacrifice from taking place next Thursday because of Obama's visit. The Lord is telling us that when we see this event, this is the abomination that will cause the desolation and that those living in Judea had better get out of the city ASAP. They will have 10 days or less to get out before the desolation happens. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles for 1260 days. This is the same 1260 days that the Bride of Christ will be taken to a place prepared for her by God, having been given eagle's wings to fly there, to the "desert", a clue pointing us to the 7th day of Unleavened Bread when the Israelites crossed the Red Sea into the desert and the Lord said He brought them out on eagles' wings. "You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself" Exodus 19:4. This is the same 1260 days that the 2 witnesses (left-behind Christians and Jews) wear sackcloth and repent and preach the gospel to the world.

So, in case I've lost you in all of this, what I am saying is that this prophecy has a double fulfillment, partially fulfilled 11 years ago, and partially being fulfilled next week. Here's the part that was fulfilled 11 years ago:

Daniel 11:31 - His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice.

Here's the part that is going to be fulfilled next week:

"From the time the daily sacrifice is stopped and the sacrilegious object that causes desecration is set up to be worshiped, there will be 1,290 days."

"He will make a firm covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator."

"Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation."

They will not allow a lamb to be sacrificed for Passover but are making a big ice sculpture of Obama - a sacrilegious object that is set up to be worshiped - thousands of people will come out to "worship" Obama as he drives through the streets of Jerusalem and they make this huge image of him. And yet, the Passover lamb is not allowed to be slain on the very same day. And then he will go to the "temple fortress", and stand in the holy place. Yes, the grotto is considered by MANY Christians all over the world to be the MOST HOLY PLACE in the world. He will stand there, where he does not belong. The abomination will be set up on March 21/22, the first day of Spring. This is the day that the Jews are told to flee and why Jesus told them to pray that their FLIGHT be not in the WINTER or on the SABBATH. Obama rides into Jerusalem on the first day of Spring and he will stand in the Holy Place on Friday, just before the Sabbath.

Antiochus IV Epiphanes, King of Syria (175 B.C to164 B.C ):
A foreshadow of the coming Antichrist

  • Out of nowhere, Antiochus IV surprisingly took over the throne of his brother Seleucus IV who was murdered.

  • He gave himself the surname "Epiphanes" which means "the visible god". ("My job is to be so persuasive that if there's anybody left out there who is still not sure whether they will vote, or is still not clear who they will vote for, that a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany ... and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama").

  • When Antiochus IV came to reign, he imprinted on his coins, Theos Antiochus, Theos Epiphanes, which means -  “Antiochus, God manifest.”

  • People called him "Epimanes" meaning "the madman".

  • Antiochus IV (also called “Little Horn”) grew to become a great power from a small beginning (Daniel 8:9).

  • Antiochus IV went to Jerusalem and killed over eighty thousand men, women, and children and sold forty thousand into slavery (2 Maccabees 5-14).

  • Antiochus IV set up the image of Jupiter in the Holy Place in Jerusalem and forced Jews into idol worship.

  •
  •
  • Antiochus IV sacrificed a pig upon the altar in God’s temple and scattered its blood over all the sanctuary and vessels.

  • Antiochus IV destroyed all copies of Scripture that could be found, and slaughtered everyone discovered in possession of such copies.

  • Antiochus IV blasphemed the God of Heaven (Daniel 8:11).

  • Antiochus IV would deceitfully pretend to be on a peaceful mission then he would attack, plunder, steal and kill (Daniel 8:25).

  • Many believe Antiochus IV was demon possessed (Daniel 8:23).
  •

  • Antiochus Epiphanes went insane and died of disease in Persia in 164 B.C., not by the hand of man (Daniel 8:25).

From the internet:

Every day the Jews had two sacrifices called the Daily Sacrifice. The first sacrifice was called the Morning sacrifice and it took place at 9AM, while the second sacrifice was called the evening sacrifice and it took place at 3PM.
The sacrifice was the same for both the morning and evening sacrifice. What would happen is that a lamb would be sacrificed and that bread and wine would also be offered up (my note: this is exactly the SAME sacrifice commanded by God to be offered on the Feast of Firstfruits - one lamb and bread and wine). Numbers 28 tells us that this sacrifice is to be a continual offering, meaning forever. During both of these sacrifices certain prayers would be said.

Now, at Mass we are participating in the sacrifice of the Cross. Not that Jesus is dying anew, but that His sacrifice is being presented to the Father continuously throughout the world, fulfilling the Old Testament daily sacrifice.

My note: the "daily sacrifice" was ended when the Church of the Nativity was raided on April 2, 2002, and they had to stop giving the daily communion at that time. This is part of the fulfillment of this prophecy -"His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation." Or in other words, at this same temple fortress that was desecrated, where the daily sacrifice was abolished, the next big event to watch for at this same location is the abomination that causes desolation, which Jesus told us would involve something or someone standing where it or he does not belong and that it or he would stand in this "holy place". From CNN: One of Christianity's most holy places, the site's focal point is the Grotto of the Nativity, a rectangular cavern beneath the church that has been considered the site of Christ's birth since at least the 2nd century. Another article:The Church of the Nativity in the heart of Bethlehem marks one of Christianity's most sacred sites - the birthplace of Christ. Situated on Manger Square 5 miles from Jerusalem, the church is built over a grotto where the Virgin Mary is said to have given birth to Jesus. The church's large fortress-like exterior stands as a testament to its turbulent history. For centuries, it was one of the most fought over holy places.

Here are some of the prayers that were said during each of the sacrifices while Jesus was being crucified:

"Lord, you are almighty forever, who makes the dead alive... who supports those who fall, heals the sick, frees the captive, and keeps your word faithfully to those who sleep in the dust... Blessed are You, Lord, who makes the dead alive."

"Proclaim our liberation with the great trumpet, and raise a banner to gather together our dispersed, and assemble us from the four corners of the earth. Blessed are you, Lord, who gathers the banished of your people Israel."

"And to Jerusalem, your city, return with mercy and dwell in its midst as you have spoken; and build it soon in our days to be an everlasting building; and raise up quickly in its midst the throne of David. Blessed are you, Lord, who builds Jerusalem."

Obama is doing what Antiochus IV did. He will not allow the sacrifice to take place on Thursday, March 21. His visit to Jerusalem that day will ensure that this sacrifice will not happen because it would be too big of a security risk. They are setting up an image of Obama - an ice sculpture. Remember the last image made of Obama? Right arm withered at Democratic National Convention. Zechariah 11:17 - "Woe to the worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! May his arm be completely withered, his right eye totally blinded!"

And he shall confirm 1396 the covenant 1285 with many 7227 for one 259 week 7620: and in the midst 2677 of the week 7620 he shall cause the sacrifice 2077 and the oblation 4503 to cease 7673 , and for the overspreading 3671 of abominations 8251 he shall make [it] desolate 8074 , even until the consummation 3617, and that determined 2782 shall be poured 5413 upon the desolate 8074 .

Possible meanings of the word "sacrifice":

1) sacrifice

a) sacrifices of righteousness

b) sacrifices of strife

c) sacrifices to dead things

d) the covenant sacrifice

e) the passover

f) annual sacrifice

g) thank offering

He will stop the PASSOVER, the sacrifice.

Isaiah 66:
But whoever sacrifices a bull
is like one who kills a person,
and whoever offers a lamb
    is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever makes a grain offering
is like one who presents pig’s blood.

This is a clear reference to Firstfruits, when a lamb and grain offering were offered to the Lord. The pig's blood is a reference to Antiochus IV sacrificing a pig on the altar. This was an abomination to the Lord. Instead of offering a lamb on the altar, they offered a pig. Next Thursday, instead of allowing them to offer a lamb, they will usher in Obama and have made a huge sculpture of him for the adoring crowd.

The next day, he will go back to the "holy place" where the armed forces desecrated the temple fortress and will stand in this holy place where he does not belong. I believe that this IS the abomination that the Lord warned us about. He gave us another important clue by telling us to pray that it not be winter (he rides into Jerusalem on the first day of Spring) and that it not be on the Sabbath (he will stand in the Holy Place on Friday, just before the Sabbath). He is literally telling us that this will happen on the first day of Spring and the day before the Sabbath. He's reminding the Jews that this is like what happened when the pig was slaughtered and the image of Jupiter was set up in Jerusalem and that on that day, the Jewish people had to flee into the mountains for 3 years. He's warning the Jews that when they see this event, they need to flee again to the mountains because Jerusalem will be trampled on my the Gentiles for 1260 days, which I believe will begin 7-10 days later.
