"Strange item on the
Pyramid of Gizeh, to Marilyn"
Thanks for the great article on the Pyramid of
Giza.
One construction item about the Pyramid came to light
recently. Scientists have been inside it, and sent a robot
camera up one of the shafts from the King's Chamber.
They wanted to see what was at the end of the shaft, which is
too small for a human to enter. At the end of the shaft
was a door, but the tiny robot was able to pass through a hole
in the door to see a little beyond, and what they saw in there
was some human writings. The scientists speculated on what
these ancient symbols meant, and thought they probably were
construction workers' markings, which sounds plausible,
until....you try to figure out how the construction workers got
into that tiny space? Now there's a real puzzle.
I suppose someone may have an answer, that the area behind that
little door was built first, before the blocks were put in place
around it. I can't even start to imagine how they would do
that, but maybe someone can. The shaft would have to be
free-standing if built first, including the area behind the
door. Or it would have to have only the blocks beneath it
built first, not the blocks on top of it, but this would take
even more incredible engineering....I suppose to carve the shaft
as a "ramp" going up the lower stones at an angle to them.
But then the builders would have to fit the blocks on top of the
ramp by carving a matching depression in them before setting
them in place.
The whole pyramid thing is just too amazing. You think,
Marilyn, maybe giants did it. Well, maybe! Maybe God
Himself built it. Or maybe they had some really small
midgets. Giants and midgets. Good grief!
