"Re: Laurie Hane and Doves - Soul Salvation"

Dear Laurie,

Yes! Your clear, concise and up-to-date explanation of soul salvation versus spirit salvation using the metaphor of a football team's activities before, during and after the practice sessions struck me as perfectly appropriate. Thanks for posting on this important subject and I too recommend the book Shock and Surprise Beyond the Rapture by Gary Whipple. I have his book on my bookshelf and enjoy reading about this so very urgent subject for these last days.

The blurb reads in part: Unlocks the many secret doors of Matthew allowing the read to understand the prophetic words of Jesus concerning the church, Israel and the coming kingdom... Scores of scriptures, never before connected or fully understood, are brought together in this book. Salvation in its three tenses is traced from Abraham through his national seed to the church.

It will give you a clear understanding of all the mysteries of Matthew, as well as instruct you in that which is necessary to enter the coming kingdom of our Lord...Offers a never before published in-depth study of the parables of Matthew 13...Deals with the purpose and scope of Jesus' ministry recorded in Matthew concerning the Bride of Christ, the wedding feast and the wedding guests.

HOW THE SOUL IS SAVED

I would like this message to be more than just a recommendation, but to contain a little of the knowledge that God gives to all believers interested in soul salvation. A good summary of soul salvation is given in a few scripture verses to believers (my underlining).

"Then Jesus said unto His disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life will lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his own works." (Matt. 16:24-27)

"Wherefore, lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." (James 1:22)

"Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2)

"That the trial of your faith being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now you see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your soul." (1 Peter 1:7-9)

Read Romans for understanding of spirit salvation or the process of redemption. Read the following epistles for an understanding of soul salvation which comes after spirit salvation as the believer undergoes a process of maturation in the faith called sanctification: Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Hebrews, James and 1 and 2 Peter. Finally, the process of bodily glorification and future rewards can be found in the familiar verses in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 and Revelation chapter 3.

With love,

Robert
