THE GREAT REVIVAL AND THE LATTER RAIN
 
Greetings Doves!!

One of the ‘ new revelations’, which the Holy Spirit revealed to me, when I was studying the possibility of three raptures, is that the Great Revival and the LATTER RAIN occur AFTER THE FIRST RAPTURE OF THE BRIDE.  Part of the great apostasy, in the Church today, is that this Great Revival will happen before the Rapture, and in fact, many of these end time churches actually believe that it is happening right now, and that they are part of it!! Nothing could be further from the TRUTH!!!

The FORMER RAIN happened at Pentecost with the out pouring of the HOLY SPIRIT and the formation of the CHURCH. This former rain was a fulfilling of the promise made by Jesus to send the Comforter, and also a foreshadowing of the LATTER RAIN to come at the end of the Age.  These rains have to do with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and we certainly do not see this happening in the apostate churches, today!!

(I must note here that I do see this outpouring with all of us on this site, and that is just an awesome wonder!!! THANK YOU JOHN FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE!!!)

Although the FORMER RAIN is similar to the LATTER RAIN, much of what happens in Joel is not what occurred to the new born Church.  If one looks carefully at Joel and then at what took place in Acts 2, we see that it was not completely fulfilled, at that time.

Acts 2:16-21
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
 
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
 
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
 
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
 
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
 
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (KJV)
 
This outpouring is on a much larger scale and involves all flesh, old men and even woman. That did not happen at Pentecost. Also, they did not prophesy or dream dreams.  And, we should also notice that Peter quotes Joel mentioning that the sun is darkened and the moon is turned to blood-red, and this did not happen at that time, either!!

So this part of the outpouring did not happen at that time and is clearly referring to another specific time and a future event.  Those at Pentecost were experiencing a glimpse of what would happen, by the Spirit, during the tribulation period.
The next outpouring of the Holy Spirit will be the LATTER RAIN and will occur after the Rapture of the Bride, during the Great Tribulation, when mass numbers of people will become saved through Christ Jesus, and people will dream special dreams and will see visions and will prophesy. Also there will be many signs in the heavens, blood red moons and eclipses.

Today, the LATTER RAIN supporters believe in a last day’s revival unlike any other in history. Yet, the Bible speaks more specifically of a great falling away instead of a great revival during the period right before the Rapture of the Bride.

Actually, the Bride of Christ will depart from the apostasy in the end time churches and go to meet the Bridegroom in heaven, before this great revival takes place on earth.  She is the first fruits of the Barley Harvest.

In Israel you have two rainy seasons called the former and later rain. At the end of the spring rain you have a harvest that is for grain. Since the first fruits of the barley harvest are gone in the first rapture, the wheat would be the next harvest, which will be the general and greatest Harvest, which will be the Mid-tribulation rapture.

This harvest includes the 144,000 and the Two Witnesses as well as all those they have saved during the first half of the Tribulation. Then, at the end of the autumn season you have the harvest which was for fruit.

THE GRAPE HARVEST, THE PRE-WRATH RAPTURE.  This harvest will be for the Tribulation saints, all those saved during the last half of the Tribulation, whether Gentile or Jew; all those that did not take the mark of the Beast.  This is the last outpouring of the Holy Spirit before the Wrath of God is poured out on the unbelievers.

The FORMER and the LATTER rains correspond to the 7 feast days given in Lev.23.
In the first portion the former rain, 4 feasts of Israel, were fulfilled in the spring season by Jesus' first coming. The last three feasts will be fulfilled by his 2nd coming.
The rain comes in the beginning and the end; it shows us why so many Jews were saved in the beginning of the Church and why so many will be saved in the end. In the Jewish calendar the latter rain corresponds to the autumn feasts of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and the feast of Tabernacle (booths).

God will not desert His people and will empower them, even in the midst of the Great Tribulation. He will provide them with oil for their lamps, even the provision of the Holy Spirit. But they must purchase the oil themselves.

This is the firm warning we see in the parable of the ten virgins.  Five were wise. And five were foolish. Those who are wise will be seeking out and finding that oil. They will find it at the oil press, the place of crushing, when they die to themselves and give their lives to Christ.  Unfortunately few modern day Christians want to give up their lives and selves, to Christ, but this is where the oil is to be found.

The whole story of God filling His people with the Holy Spirit in the latter days, yes even during the coming Great Tribulation, has not been told. Instead the later day churches want to believe that they will fulfill the GREAT COMMISSION and will prepare the way for Christ.  What a heresy!!!

A few of these modern movements are:

The Prosperity Gospel movement:
This movement tells of being blessed only and not being tried, or refined in the fire of tribulation.  If you are born again, then your life will be good, here on this earth.

The New Charismatics: This Dominion Theology is the idea that the present day apostate church will take over the world in its present form and will usher in the New Millennium by its own efforts!!

Kingdom Now movement:  They promise to lead the church to global victory painlessly and easily; no need for Messiah to intervene in deliverance in the end-time. The Church will have the whole world under their control. They will just hand it over to Jesus when He comes.

IF THIS IS THE GREAT REVIVAL THEN IT LOOKS LIKE SATAN WINS!!!  SCARY STUFF!!!
 
THE TRUE LATTER RAIN REVIVAL OF JOEL

The latter rain outpouring:

23 Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God;
For He has given you the former rain faithfully,
And He will cause the rain to come down for you--
The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month.

24 The threshing floors shall be full of wheat,
And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. - Joel 2:23-24 NKJV

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon individuals of all ages and from all walks of life.

Joel 2
28. "And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

29. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
- Joel 2:28-29 NKJV

The outpouring is during the Seventieth Week of Daniel,

Joel 2
30. "And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
31. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
- Joel 2:30-31 NKJV
 
The Great revival and the Latter Rain will indeed come.   There will be a great pouring out of the Holy Spirit in the end, even in the midst of great tribulation. The Holy Spirit will empower and cover God's people and the tribulation saints will be covered with His Glory!!

This all means that the Holy Spirit will not be taken out of the way!!! God will cover His hard pressed people as they come up to witness before kings and rulers in the end-time drama. He will cover them in waves of glory! And He will be with His people by His Holy Spirit right up until the very end of the age.

THE LATTER RAIN WILL COME DOWN IN EARNEST
AS WE ENTER THE 70TH WEEK OF DANIEL AND
THE FINAL SEVEN YEARS OF THIS AGE.

 That is going to be any day now!!!

Finally it all is beginning to make more sense, and in doing so, is being made simple…simple enough for a child to understand.  One new revelation can lead to others, and in this way help us see the whole picture more clearly.

Please understand that I am not preaching this to anyone, but rather presenting it as a possibility. There is so much that I do not know, and even what I do seem to understand, could definitely use the expert help of so many of you Bible scholars out there.  I am totally open to new understandings, and really enjoy the discussions that occur when we put our collective heads together.
