Hi Doves,
John 3:16 reads,
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
The phrase "whoever believes in Him" means whoever acknowledges Jesus Christ as God AND believes in His Truth.
For it is impossible to Acknowledge Jesus as our Lord and God and have no regard for His Truth, for He is One with His Truth.
"I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life." [John 14:6]
We believe in His Truth when we practise it.
When we are practising His Truth we are practising His righteousness.
Paul reveals to us the difference between those Christians who believe the truth and those Christians who do not!
"...they ALL may be condemned who did NOT believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." [2 Thess.2:12]
This implies that those Christians, who believe the truth enjoy practising righteousness!
This means that everyday we practise righteousness, we are receiving everlasting life.
For the righteousness we practise IS from our Lord Jesus Christ. He said it Himself.
"...their righteousness is FROM ME, says the Lord." [Isaiah 54:17]
This is why John wrote,
"...He who practises righteousness IS  righteous, just as He is righteous."[1John 3:7]
This is why everlasting life is continually being added to us.
The full implication of this will not be realised until the Day we are translated as the dead saints are being raised up into heaven!
I believe that when the resurrection of the saints occur, millions will perish in a massive Worldwide earthquake, as our bodies are being translated by everlasting life.
I believe John 3:16 is a prophecy that will be fulfilled on the Last Day of this Christian dispensation.
The Last Day of this Christian dispensation falls on Sunday the 8th of April 2012 - Day of First-fruits!
