"response to Lydia"

Hi Lydia
I understand what you are saying but the CLEAR reading of this scripture is that a person is committing adultery and will still be saved in the Day of the Lord.

The only way to understand what God is telling us is to "Rightly Divide the Word". That is only 1 verse and if you would have read my other post I make a compeliing and clear argument for OSAS. It is not off subject as a lot of people on this post are doing "good" thinking they are pleasing God. Now I have nothing wrong with doing good works and I believe there are consequences for the deeds we do whether they are good or bad. But it has absolutely NOTHING to do with your being saved or a person being raptured.

How will you disect Romans 4:5(which I also quoted in my response to Josh) and will quote again."But to him that worketh not, but believe on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness".

You obviously know what the Bible teaches and it is clear that nothing can pluck us out of the Father's hand.

There can defineitly be a loss of reward for a Christian and that will happen at the Judgement Seat of Christ.

So it is clear what I am saying
1-Yes I believe in OSAS
2-If I did not believe in OSAS I would be adding to what my Savior Jesus already did.
3-A Christian will be chastised if he is out of God's Will but will not lose his salvation or "blessed hope"
4-All beleivers will be raptured

I get a little concerned when anyone says they want to do good to assure they make it as that seems like they are depending on something because what Jesus did. I believe a person makes 2 choices. 1- to salvation and 2- to serve. You can be saved and NOT serve but you cannot serve if you are not saved. If you do not serve you will not have that abundant life that comes from serving our Lord. We run a big danger if we "mix" the two.

Hope this is clear but remember who God made as our spokesman which is Paul. The books he penned are for the Church. He made it clear for us. When over 100 verses mentioned we are saved by faith then anything else we try to add to salvation is a mistake.

thanks
Mike W
