"Two good bible rules from the bible."

Hello, John and Doves,

Here are two good bible rules from the bible.  [Let the bible interpret the bible--a cardinal rule of exegesis regarding any text.]

Rule #1:  God's Word is preeminently profitable.

It is written,
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Joshua 1:8

Again, it is written,
"Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
Psalm 119:105

And yet again, it is written,
"All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
"That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

Rule #2:  God's promises apply to me and you, as the Spirit of God instructs us.

It is written,
"But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."

Again, it is written,
"We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us."

Yet again, it is written,
"And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
"Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.
"For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."

Oh, and don't forget God's promises to us, some of which are:
    "But in that coming day

no weapon turned against you will succeed.

You will silence every voice

raised up to accuse you.

These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord;

their vindication will come from me.

I, the Lord, have spoken!"

Isaiah 54:17  NLT

"For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God."

2 Corinthians 1:20

Bottom line?  Christians that are obedient to God enjoy the blessings of God!
This includes being saved from the wrath of God.  Obviously, many suffer under the anger of Satan against Jesus Christ.

It is written,
"Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man."

Again, it is written,
"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

"As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
"Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
"Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
