Muslim reporter: White House backed Arab Spring "total disaster"
The Stonegate Institute International Policy Council says that
the Arab Spring revolutions backed by the White House have
resulted in such democratically-elected oppression that the
Muslims in those countries are wishing for a return of the
dictators. Stonegate claims to enable human rights activists,
moderate Muslims and expert investigative reporters in promoting
free speech, exposing funding for terrorist cells, and pressing
for transparency in international institutions. The conclusion
of one such journalist with Stonegate is that Muslims are worse
off a year after Arab Spring revolutions. This is clear evidence
that US Middle East policy has acted counter to freedom, human
rights, and the best interest of Americans.
In an article entitled "Arabs Are Beginning to Miss the
Dictatorships," Arab Muslim journalist Khaled Abu Toameh writes:
"On the first anniversary of the "Arab Spring," many Arabs are
beginning to wonder whether they would soon start missing the
corrupt dictators who ruled them for the past few decades."
Khaled says that the Arab Spring was supposed to promote women's
rights, encourage the abandonment of terrorism, moderation and
pragmatism. He writes, "But judging from the outcome of the
uprisings in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen, it is evident that
the "Arab Spring" has failed to achieve any of these goals. As
far as many Arabs are concerned, their "spring" has thus far
proven to be a total disaster."
Khaled writes: "The four Arab countries where the leaders have
been toppled are now in the hands of Muslim fundamentalists, who
used the "Arab Spring" as a vehicle to rise to power." He quotes
the patriarch of Lebanon's Maronite Church, a Christian church
that is loyal to Roman Catholicism, Beshara al-Rai, "How can it
be an Arab Spring when people are being killed every day?"
Indeed, Khaled confirms what the White House and State
Department were told repeatedly--that the Muslim Brotherhood
and/or al Qaeda have hijacked the so-called "democratic
movement" and are imposing their brand of radical Islam and
Sharia law on the people.
He concludes: "In these four Arab countries, women, Christians,
journalists, human rights activists and political opponents are
being targeted, and in some instances slaughtered, on a daily
basis either by the new rulers or militiamen and Muslims
fundamentalists." Americans should be ashamed and appalled that
their president embraced the Muslim Brotherhood and used the
full force of US diplomacy, taxpayer money, and military to
establish these terrorists. It was not a miscalculation because
the Administration knew who they were dealing with and what
their goals were. As Eliphaz the Temanite said in Job 4:8, "As I
have seen, they that plow iniquity and sow wickedness, reap the
same." America is about to see it, too.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
