You bring up some excellent questions concerning the description God has given us with respect to the identities of the two beasts that we call the antichrist and the false prophet.

 

You asked......So why would the Lord give us the number of the second beast in Rev. 13:18 as you imply if the saints are to get the victory over the first beast, and over his image, and over the number of his name?

My answer to that would be that God gave us such a "detailed" description as to who the first beast would be in Rev.17 that it should be apparent to all who read God's word in Rev.17 as to who this first beast is or will be. And that the wise and biblically informed would avoid anything that had anything to do with this beast. That would include his name, his mark, his number and his religious affiliation as per the warning in Rev.18.

 

God told us in Rev.17.....

1) Where this first beast would come from

2) That this beast would be directly affiliated with a world wide organization

3) God described this organization in such exacting detail that anyone with any insight at all could perceive that it was the RCC

4) God said that the first beast would be one of the seven kings (popes) of this organization. There has been only seven kings of this organization since it became it's own country in 1929.

5) God said that five of these kings (popes) had fallen, one is (the one John was focused on, the sixth king) the seventh king (pope) would have a short reign

6) One of these seven kings (popes), (the one John was focused on) would arise from the bottomless pit to become the eighth king (pope) and would be the first beast we call the antichrist.

7) God stressed to us three times in three consecutive verses.... so that we could not possible miss it...... that this first beast was, and is not and yet is. Meaning that he was alive, he died, and he will appear to be alive again.

8) God told us that this beast (risen image of a dead pope) will marvel and totally amaze the left behind people who see this well know person who was dead and is back......... front and center on the world stage.

9) God tells us that this first beast will be affiliated with a city built on seven mountains where said organization has it's headquarters. Rome

 

So no, God did not share the name, mark, or number of the first beast. Why should He have to when He gave us all of the above details. Anyone who would dedicate a small amount of time could ascertain who the antichrist will be and avoid anything that he is pushing.....names, marks, numbers, beagle puppies........whatever he's pushing......avoid it.

 

And God also wanted to share with us the identity of the second beast who would become the evil enforcer of the antichrist who would murder millions who fail to take the name, mark or number of the first beast.....so we could avoid him also.

 

God gave us three clues as to the identity of this second beast which were.

1) He was a man......as opposed to being a risen demonic entity as is the first beast

2) He was from the earth ......meaning he will be an alive man present on the earth at the time of the great tribulation

3) He will have a number affiliated with him and that number is the number of a man (not a demon) and it will be 666

 

As per the Doves site........ much research has been done and a great deal of data shows that Barack Hussein Obama is undoubtedly connected to the number 666. If this data is true, it proves to me that he will soon become the second beast who we call the false prophet and after the rapture will use his dictatorial powers and the full weight of the U.S. military complex to enforce the demands of the first beast, the antichrist, the image of a dead Pope John Paul II who will be indwelled by Satan to completely dazzle, deceive and terrorize the planet.

 

With this in mind Donna please re-read a section from my prior post and see if it now makes more sense to you. That the whole focus of the eight verses was on the second beast and verse 18 was like you or I writing an article on something specific and at the very end saying ......

 

In conclusion (verse 18)...... I would like say that this beast that I have just focused on and described to you in the last seven verses will be a man. And for the wise of you out there I will give you a number for this man so that you will be able to determine his identity. His number will be 666.

11..Then I saw another beast (second beast) coming up out of the earth, and he (second beast) had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.

 

12..And he (second beast) exercises all the authority of the first beast in his (first beast) presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

 

13..He (second beast) performs great signs, so that he (second beast) even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.

 

14..And he (second beast) deceives those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast (first beast) who was wounded by the sword and lived.

 

15.. He (second beast) was granted power to give breath to the image of the (first) beast, that the image of the (first) beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the (first) beast to be killed.

 

16/17...He (second beast) causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,

and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the (first) beast, or the number of his (first beast) name.

 

18..Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the (second beast) beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.

 

Notice how God in verse 11 frames His subject matter (what God wanted us to focus on)......"Then I saw another beast (second beast)....focus on the second beast........ and never for God to change that focus.

 

And also notice.... so there wouldn't be any confusion who God was talking about, that God started the continuing verses with the word "he". God did this so you would know that He hadn't changed the focus of His explanation and was completely focused on the second beast. The verses tell how the second beast interacts with the first beast but God's focus never leaves the second beast. He, he, he, he, he, he.........

P.S....I believe God shared with us plenty of info in Rev.17 to determine the identity of the antichrist. And as per the false prophet, Daniel said...."seal up the words until the end when information will abound". Well now thanks to computers and all the numbers and stats that are at our fingertips when they crunched these numbers and stats concerning the number 666 they came up with an avalanche of facts pointing to Barack Obama. I believe this makes him the false prophet.

 

Many others are still busy with larger and larger hammers trying to pound a square peg in a round hole. And that is, to try to make Obama fit into the verses God gave us in Rev.17 concerning the antichrist. I don't care how hard and how long they pound they cannot make Obama fit into God's words on the matter. And it really puzzles me when they continue to attack and belittle anyone who will not bring a hammer to their party.
