I ordered the iodine tablets the other night with the first mention of a problem with the nukes. I figured if the West Coast could be hit by the 'waves' of the tsunami, those same currents (both water and air) could bring the radiation here as well. I must not be alone in that thinking, since a couple of sites I visited were SOLD OUT!! Plus, on the news today (Fox News), they gave a 'warning' to NOT take the supplements, as they could have harmful side effects. huh. I'm sorry, but that right there makes me believe we are probably going to NEED them. I know they sell devices that can detect radiation...I wish I had one.
