The pictures of the tsunami hitting Japan and the damage done are both awful and astonishing. Almost unreal.

My thoughts are with those who are suffering and those who have lost loved ones in this disaster.

 

The distance from Christchurch to the 8.9 quake off Japan's coast using Google Earth ruler is about 5935 miles.

 

If it had been 5929 miles (6 miles less) it would have been 77 x 77 miles!

 

USGS says it was 373 km NE of Tokyo. 373  is the Greek gematria for 'the Word', LOGOS used in John 1:1.

 

USGS says it happened at 2:46:23 PM local time. ie 14:47. 14 x 60 + 47 = 887, very nearly 888 minutes into the

day of 11/3/2011 which is day # 70. "Very nearly." Oh my! How close!"
