"Why are we mixing things
up?"
Luke 21:36 "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that
ye MAY BE ACCOUNTED WORTHY to escape all these things that shall come
to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
Why are we mixing Eternal life with the rapture? although they CAN go
by the hand, eternal life CAN exclude the rapture. Such will be the
case for those left behind that will have their one last chance:
"Endure and most likely Die for Jesus or mark yourself and live a
little bit for the Antichrist, these are the foolish virgins' choices"
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever BELIEVES IN HIM should not perish, but have
EVERLASTING LIFE (this does not mean raptured).
Christians have died and gone through tribulation since Jesus ascended,
yet they've obtained eternal life, why would it be any differently
during the birth pains and maybe the first half of the tribulation?
(not to be confused with the great tribulation/wrath of God)
Lets take the whole word for what it is, in context! and not just 1 or
2 verses to reconcile our way of seeing things. Yes Jesus is enough for
our salvation, yes all we have to do is believe (faith) but true faith
has works, otherwise your faith is dead faith (James says this...), by
"works" it means obedience, it means doing His will, I know christians
who say they believe, heck! they believe with all their hearts
apparently, they even confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior all the
time but aren't really living the life that Jesus taught us to live (by
their fruits we shall know them). God is a just God, he does not pay
everyone the same, that would be injustice, the rapture is a reward by
itself, that's why He explicitly said "Watch and pray, that you may be
accounted worthy", why would Jesus say something like that if everyone
who believes in Jesus will be raptured? that just makes no sense to me,
it is what it is, you must be found worthy to be raptured, this has
nothing to do with eternal life, this is the rapture we are talking
about, it's for His bride. Jesus speaks to 7 churches in Revelations,
dispensationalism says that these are church ages, practicality and
common sense shows me all of these 7 churches can be applied to
christians nowadays, its no coincidence that out of these 7 churches
only 1 is promised to be kept from the hour of trial the world will
face. Paul said it very clearly, to work on our salvation with fear and
trembling, he even said that he could be disqualified or castaway.
Philippians 2:12 "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not
as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your
own salvation with fear and trembling;"
1 Corinthians 9:27 "But I keep under my body, and bring it into
subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I
myself should BE A CASTAWAY." or "But I discipline my body and bring it
into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should
become DISQUALIFIED"
Take the WHOLE word for what it is, and not just a few verses, the
whole word teaches us that we need to "overcome", Jesus "overcame" we
that follow Him, must do the same through Him. He already paid the
ticket through His once and for all sacrifice, now we must get on that
boat and remain on it, It's a narrow path and not many find it, the
narrowness shows the difficulty of staying on it, let us overcome
through Jesus and the guidance of His Holy Spirit (the oil in our
lamps).
Luke 9:23 "Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after
Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross DAILY, and follow Me."
In Christs love, God bless you all!
