P.S.  I was on the Mornington Peninsula in 1994 and took the train up to Melbourne.   Then my friends were driving and introduced me to roundabouts which I think are so much better than the way it is here in Los Angeles.    I have traveled to other states in the USA and when you are making a left hand turn at a light in an intersection the green light has an arrow that protects you.   Well in Los Angeles most of the green lights to turn left are NOT protected so you have to brace yourself and try to weasel your way in-between cars through the oncoming traffic.   It is so stupid!   Roundabouts are so much safer!
