"RE:  The Meaning of the Christchurch Disaster"

Hello, John and Doves,
I don't mean to be irreverent here, but it sounds like the Christchurchers are saying,
"So long, and thanks for all the fish."  lol

"The Meaning of the Christchurch Disaster?"

I was thinking and asking God about how He could let such a thing happen to a city named and dedicated to His honor.  Immediately the following scripture popped into my mind:

1Pe 4:17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

The Canterbury Pilgrims had aspirations of building a city around a cathedral and college, on the model of Christ Church in Oxford.[5] The name "Christ Church" was decided prior to the ships' arrival, at the Association's first meeting, on 27 March 1848.
Christchurch became a city by Royal Charter on 31 July 1856, the first in New Zealand. Many of the city's Gothic Revival buildings by architect Benjamin Mountfort date from this period.

The title sounds prophetic to me.  Christchurch not to be rebuilt!  The sheeples have realized what the hot-air in denial politicians don't: Christchurch is not rebuildable, because of the shifting sandy liquefaction-able ground.  Sheeples are voting with their feet, packing up and just leaving the area for good.

My buddy in N.Z. sends this report: what's really happening there. Contrast this with the stuff posted in the mainstream press.
It gets worse by the day!
