"A Legacy of the Mayflower Compact: Reply for Dewey"
Dear Dewey and Doves,
I noticed your remarks about the
creation of the Mayflower Compact, a Covenant, and blessings rather
than curses thereafter. My mother's family, through her father's line,
was Congregational. This goes all the way back to the Pilgrims and the
Mayflower and the Mayflower Compact. It is my firm belief that some of
each generation since have been called and chosen to display
blessedness in a sense of ongoing generational blessings related to
this background. I believe this has been true for Mary Belle Habeger,
for my mother, for me, and for my nephew. I have seen this spiritual
imprint clearly in three generations! Currently, there is at least one
of the Doves with a Mayflower Connection.
We have studied generational links and
believe that my mother's father's line is descended from William
Brewster, the minister of the Mayflower. My ancestor's signature was on
the Mayflower Compact. It is a source of honor and blessings to be a
spiritual and ancestral legacy of William Brewster and the Pilgrims and
the Mayflower Compact. I am sure that from this Covenant many blessings
have come to America and her people thereafter! I know they have come
to me and my family. Joshua wisely said long ago. "As for me and my
house, we will serve the Lord."
With Love and Shalom,
Jean
