"Re: Mic's - Daniel's 70th week"

Mic – I first wanted to commend you on your extensive exposition in covering Daniel’s 70th week.

Just wanted to throw out some HOPEFULLY thought provoking questions concerning these events as listed in your 70th week post:

  1. to finish the transgression
  2. and to make an end of sins
  3. and to make reconciliation for iniquity
  4. and to bring in everlasting righteousness
  5. and to seal up the vision and prophecy
  6. and to anoint the most Holy.

Can’t one say that the penalty for the transgression against God’s law is death?  And Jesus finished paying the price for that transgression on the cross when he declared, “It is finished” by his death.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.  John 19:30

But isn’t there a second part?  Doesn’t each person have to recognize and accept this payment, this substitute, this propitiation for our sins, before that person can be saved?

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;  Romans 3:25

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.  I John 2:2

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  I John 4:10

Has everyone done this?  Can we now say that as a result of this act, there is now and end of sins?  Have sins ended?  Have people stopped sinning?  Even us that have accepted this propitiation, have we stopped sinning?  Obviously the first part is to pay the price for the transgression (1.), but has the final result (2.) occurred, which is an end of sins?  Will not as long as sin is in the world, death will also be in the world? 

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

Has death ended?  Has death yet been thrown into the bottomless pit?

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.  Revelation 20:3

Okay – That deals with number one and two.  Now what about number 5 to seal up the vision and prophecy?

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.  Daniel 12:4

And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.  Revelation 10:4

Could it not be said that both Daniel in the 27th book of the Old Testament and John in the 27th book of the New Testament, sealed up the visions and prophecies they received?

Regarding number 6, anoint the most Holy.  Has that happened?  Guess the first question is what or who is the most Holy?  I would submit that the three PERSONS of the Godhead are the most Holy.  There are none more Holy than the three persons of the Godhead.  There are none Holy besides the three persons of the Godhead.

There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.  I Samuel 2:2

They are Holy, and Holy, and Holy:

And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.  Isaiah 6:3

And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.  Revelation 4:8

Now, the next question is, have the three PERSONS of the Godhead been anointed or is this a future event?  I would propose that based on scripture, the nature of the person of the FATHER, that Moses was only able to see the back most part and live, does not allow HIM in any way to be anointed.

And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.  And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:  And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:  And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen..  Exodus 33:20-23

However, the nature of the other two PERSONS of the Godhead, the SON, and the HOLY GHOST, I would propose, do allow both of them to be anointed.  In fact, I’d submit that they both have already been anointed.  In fact, I’ve in times past proposed that these two persons of the Godhead ARE the two anointed ones:

Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the LORD of the whole earth.  Zechariah 4:14

When were they anointed?  Well, Jesus alone, right before He received the Holy Spirit, could be said to have been anointed with water by John the Baptist.  And the SON OF MAN, Jesus, the Word of God, and the Holy Ghost, as Jesus was filled with the Holy Ghost, were anointed for burial with oil right before these two persons of the Godhead were Martyred by MAN.  (A side note – There is a fantastic Christian book called “Anointed for Burial” by two missionaries in Cambodia in the 1970’s.)

Now when Jesus was in Bethany , in the house of Simon the leper, There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.  Matthew 26:6

And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.  Mark 14:3

For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.  Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.  Matthew 26:13

She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.  Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.  Mark 14:8-9

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,  And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.  Luke 7:37-38

I cannot help but breakdown with tears myself when I read these accounts of MY LORD being anointed by this woman for HIS burial.

So, should I leave you all with only questions and not propose answers for Daniel’s 70th week?  For those who have downloaded and read my free ebook, “Passion, Power & Glory – Watching for the Return of the Prince of Peace”, you already know that I’ve proposed that Daniels 70th week to fulfill ALL these six items, in particular to put AN END to SIN (which must include an end to death), and to bring in EVERLASTING righteousness, (#4) (everlasting means for ever, not just 1,000 years), the 70th week must end at the end of time as we know it, when DEATH is thrown into the bottomless pit. 

And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.  Revelation 20:3

In other words, the little season must be the 70th week. 

Hold on.  There can be a TWO WITNESS fulfillment of the 70th week.  There are TWO comings of the MESSIAH.  There appears there is a TWO WITNESS fulfillment of the 62 weeks and the 7 weeks.  This would be using the 445 BC date possibly plus 7 weeks, then 62 weeks, which using 360-day years appears to land on Nisan 10/11 in 32 AD.  And this would be using the second fulfillment starting with 62 weeks ending on June 7, 1967, plus 7 weeks, ending on September 23, 2015.  The first witness fulfillment of the 70th week would coincide with the last week of the last 7 weeks, starting October 29/30 2008.
