Phil,That was a great observation about the nine. If you imagine a clock face with a single hand. The starting point is 0 degrees (also 360 degrees). If your clock's hand rotated once (counterclock-wise of course), it would have rotated a full 360 degrees. If we wanted our clock's hand to rotate 666 degrees, it would pass the 360 degree (also 0 degree) mark and almost make it back around to 0. It's 1st stop would be at 306 degrees. Starting again from there, and rotating CCW another full 666 degrees, the second stop would be at 252 degrees. The third at 198 degrees and so on.
