"To Carol G Regarding Dream"
I was in New York City in the 1980s and
have heard of the Street before but hadn't thought about it that I know
of in any recent time. The subconcious may have picked something
up on the news, but again, I don't know about that.
After
posting to the Doves, I did a little research. I went to Google
Maps and looked at the Ave of the Americas online. Saw nothing
that looked like my dream. Looked for parks. There are a
couple, including Central Park which AOTA butts up into, but again, it
didn't match the dream.
So, I looked for the ball parks in
NYC. First where the Yankees play. Way far from the area of
Ave of the Americas. Then where the Mets play. That's where
things started getting interesting.
The Mets play in a
park called Flushing-Meadows Corona Park, a park I have never heard of
or been to. This park was once a dump called the Valley of
Ashes. In the 1930s, FDR called for it to be turned into a park
to house the 1939 Worlds Fair. It was also used for the 1964
Worlds Fair.
In the middle of the park is a
circular walkway with a giant globe in the middle of it.
Converging upon that circular walkway are various streets. One of
those streets, within eye-sight of the ballpark, is called Avenue of
the Americas!!!!! I looked at pictures from the 60s, and the look
and feel is similar to my dream. Not exact, but my dream was very
short and I remember only the details mentioned.
One other
small little detail of interest -- next to the giant globe is the NY
Museum of Art. This museum is in the former NYC Pavillion.
It was also the home of the United Nations at the time they voted to
bring about the State of Israel.
I did not get the feeling
that NY had been hit. I got the feeling that things had
changed. The sign was being deliberately taken down and
removed. It was still a vibrant carved sign with like a bright
sky blue color and bright red color in it.
I did find it intriguing it was "the Americas" rather than "America", implying more than just the US.
There
were no instructions in the dream, no call for action, as one would
expect in a prophetic dream. So, while I think it may have been
prophetic, particularly after researching the area, I have not had
anything definite from the Lord and will leave it at that.
PS- I was not afraid. As a Christian, I was standing watching this happen. It wasn't a violent dream, just sad.
