"Thoughts on Purim"

From Judaism 101 http://www.jewfaq.org/holiday9.htm

I find it interesting that Purim on the 14th of Adar (March 10, 2009) celebrates the deliverance of the Jews in Persia ( Iran ) from destruction, while today’s Jews face intended destruction by Persia ( Iran ).  As we see the Jews moving closer and closer to a military option to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power, could any of this be tied to a modern day re-fulfillment of Purim?

The other interesting point is that according to Judaism 101, Purim means “lots” as apparently Haman cast lots to determine the day of the Jews destruction and the lot fell on the 13th of Adar.  Could that have anything to do with “you will know not the day or the hour”?

With Blessings to all,

Bruce
