"What does, "prepared themselves to sound", mean?"

What does, "prepared themselves to sound", mean?

Revelation 8:6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

I would think that it must mean more than that they all took a deep breath before they put the trumpet to their mouth.
Did their preparation involve worship?
Did it involve taking one last look at the Lamb, before sounding, knowing that all this is his revelation?
Do angels prepare themselves in anyway similar to how Christians should?

II Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the masterís use, and prepared unto every good work.

Would they need to purge their minds of all thoughts except for the task at hand?
Do they need to focus on the revelation of the Lamb, and him only?

So, what does, "prepared themselves to sound", mean?
