Very good question!I do not live in the USA but the country I do live in (Australia) could be
considered the USA's 51st state.I have been a "Born Again" Christian for 23years and in that time I have seen
teaching and preaching shift significantly from the Bible to just about
anything that sounds pleasing to the hear. The "Christian Right" is a corruption of real Christianity, just as the
"Christian Left" is a corruption of real Christianity.Real Christianity declares that - 1) Jesus is the one and only God who died
on the Cross for our sins, 2) love your neighbour as you love yourself. 3 )
Be in PERSONAL relationship with Jesus. Simple. Very Simple.
Where the corruption comes in is that the "Christian whatevers" may agree
with part 1 but then forget about part 2 and part 3 and substitute whatever.
Because part 1 is correct, it implies that part 2 must be correct, but this
is not the case. The concept of "Left" / "Right" should not exist with a Christian. These
ideas are very narrow from man's point of view. What God requires is that as
individuals we are responsible for ourselves - Right wing idea. But then as a
member of a family and community we are to look after each other - Left wing
idea. What man has done is to break God's principles in half and say one is better
than the other, then fight about it, or use to manipulate others.I love history, mankind could learn a lot form it (but rarely seems to).
There are 3 main elements used to control the masses, 1) Politics, 2) Money,
3) Religion.
These 3 things will control the vast majority of people.
These 3 things may exist as separate items, but more often than not they
merge and blur into one another, making identification of each item
difficult.I hate to say, but I feel that this latest corruption seems to come from the
USA.
Am I anti-American? Absolutely not.
Do I fear for American people? Absolutely. If one studies the history of Japan in the decades before WW2, it has been
acknowlegded that the Japanese Military system infiltrated the various levels
of Government in that country and corrupted and distorted traditional
teachings and culture. This change was premeditated to cater for the
Imperialistic desires of its leaders.
I see the same history repeating itself in a different land.I don't see "love your neighbour as you love yourself" when Pat Robertson
calls for the assination of Hugh Chavez.
I don't see "love your neighbour as you love yourself" when Pastor Parsely
(spiritual advisor to John McCain) calls for the annilation of all Muslims. With the so called "War On Terror" ongoing, I have wrestled with the idea of
having to fight against our enemies (our enemies may not be who we are being
told they are). This was an interesting excercise. Years ago, as a young man
I was in the Australian Army Reserve (1st Commando), my initial instinct was
fight to the death to protect my culture, my country, my family. But there
was a nagging thought that this was not right. I was constantly reminded of
the early church in the Roman Empire. The early Christians set an example,
they did not rise up and fight back, they willing laid aside their lives,
does that remind you of Jesus? Fighting would be easy, but its the world's
way, not God's.What would our world be like now if they did rise up and fight? They probably
would have been crushed by the might of Rome, and therfore no Christian
Church.Someone will probably say I am a Muslim insurgent, sigh! The number of
Christians that I talk to about this would love to see Muslims done away
with. Again where is "love your neighbour" in that.Am I saying do nothing? No way! The bible says "If my people turn and repent
and seek me, I will heal their land". The answers are not in politics or
money or corrupted religion, its in God. The reason corrupted Christianity
has been able to grow is because people are too lazy to learn and live God's
way. Take time to STUDY Gods Word for YOURSELF and then you won't need to
told what is right, God will tell you himself - now thats exciting. The Book Of Revelation has the Letters sent to the 7 Churches. These Churches
as well as being historical places are also the spiritual condition of
churches throughout church history. Read them, study them and learn from
them.Regards
