"To Frank Molver on Baptism,Tithing,Communion
etc."
Agreement with Frank Molver on baptism, tithing, communion
etc.
There is great blessing in obedience to God. In fact,
He tells us that
"obedience is better than a sacrifice" of any type.
By tithing, we help in getting the very Word of God to
the lost, the
highest thing on our priorities. Tithing in many churches
also go
to kitchens to feed the hungry, prison ministries, help
for widows and
orphans, financial help for the sick, etc and etc and
etc. While the gospel
is free, it takes money to travel to get it there and
provide Bibles,etc.
There are so many people to give to as well as churches.
Whatever we do
to and for others, we do for the God of the world, the
One we serve.
Baptism is a commandment, not a suggestion or choice.
To do so is obedience
and an outward symbol of being buried in His likeness,
and raised as Jesus was resurrected. It is in fact one
of our public statements
that He is our Savior and Lord.
Many people are healed as they enjoy communion with our
Lord. When He said
"Do this in remembrance of me", I believe He meant it,
just like He means everything
He says. There is a very sweetness in this intimate personal
act with Him.
A person would miss out on an awful lot without partaking
of this type of communion.
Some people have this communion at home daily or with
their families on a
daily basis.......as often as we do it....we honor Him,
we remember that awful
day He shed His own blood for remission of our sins and
took the beatings
so that we could be healed. If there is anything
communion is Not....it would
be a pure ritual What Jesus did and does is not
a ritual and neither is remembrance
of all of that a ritual. When we truly in our hearts
receive all He did and we
commune witHim , we have great sense of His Presence
and even greater
understanding of the giving of Himself to us.
28] But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat
of that bread, and drink of that cup.
[29] For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth
and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
[30] For this cause many are weak and sickly among you,
and many sleep.
We eat and drink unworthily when we do not discern the
Lord's body in this
act of communion. Scripture says that it is for THIS
CAUSE (no discernment
that this is the Lords body) that we are not healed and
some even sleep We
see here we examine ourselves to see if we actually believe
this about the
His body and blood. If we do, then we are worthy as He
is the Worthy One
and our Righteousness is of Him and not of ourselves.
Hence, so often people
are healed as they partake of this communion. Is it mere
ritual? Absolutely
not. I Corinthians 11 : 28-30. Verse 29 tells
us how we can eat and drink
of his body and blood unworthily. He says, as you read,
"By not discerning
.
the Lords body" That's what we are to examine within
ourselves..."Do I
discern just what I am doing...partaking of the Lord's
body?
