"To: Mariel Strauss On Statin
Drugs"
Hi Mariel,
Thank you for the kind words on your post.
You are so right to keep Irv off statin drugs. They all
kill either your liver or your kidneys. Then when you have taken them all
for three months each, you can no longer be on any of them. Now the person
still has high cholesterol plus renal failure and liver problems. Does
not make sense to take them. Not good medical practice but the doctor's
hands are tied. He is not allowed to tell you what will work. We must all
take control of our own health.
I have some good information that might help you out.
First of all 2,000 mg. of Omega 3 fish oil twice a day has helped many
people lower cholesterol. However, that does not work as well as what I
decided to take. PhytoMega has a good quality Omega 3 plus 1500 mg. of
plant sterols. Also has additional ingredients for heart health.
When my MD wanted to put me on Lipator I refused because
of the every six weeks testing on the liver. I took in my bottle of PhytoMega
and told him this is what I am willing to take. Being Asian, he took a
look at the ingredients and excitedly said, "this will work." He
actually wrote this down on my chart and asked for written information.
By law he could not prescribe the product but could legally have me tell
him what I wanted to take. The same thing happened with my husband's doctor
when she wanted him on drugs. I told her about PhytoMega and that my doctor
liked it. Her words to us were, "I don't care what you take as long as
it works." Again she could not tell us about it but does not have to refuse
it, if we insist on taking what we want to take.
My cholesterol went from 242 down to 180 in less than
3 months. My doctor called to say my blood work was perfect. A word of
caution here: only take your cholesterol down as low as 180 for your doctor
visit. Otherwise try not to let it get much below 200. Two medical doctors
have told me that medical research shows that massive strokes and heart
attacks occur when the cholesterol dips below 200. God designed your cholesterol
to protect your heart. These same doctors said no research has shown that
cholesterol clogs the arteries. (Willing to send you copies of my blood
work for your doctor, if you need them.)
According to honest MD's your cholesterol isn't even
close to high until it is pushing 300. Your cholesterol is supposed to
go higher with age. I remember years ago when 240 was considered normal
(and still is with doctors who do their research). The drug companies are
the ones pushing the stats down to 180 because they know it cannot be done
normally. It is all about money.
You and Irv are in my prayers. Hope you find products
that work for you naturally. By the way, Echinacea is great for the immune
system.
Blessings,
Shelva
