"To Chip/Weird dreams of many"

It is perhaps to be expected that weird dreams would arise, now that
threatening daytime events are ramping up.   Even those not usually
prone to anxiety must be "feeling it" when they get the horrible world
news all day long, every time they tune into a radio news broadcast or
turn on the TV or glance at headlines.  And many people, even if they
are not themselves devastated by the economy, know relatives and
friends who are devastated, or in fear of what happens next.  And just
the idea that this is the Last Days can affect Christians such as your
Bible study men:
Even while we hope for the Blessed Hope (hallelujah!) we are anxious
about the rest of the world which will be so destroyed, perhaps any
day.

I have had weird anxious dreams too.  Last night I had a dream in which
a very happy being came into my anxious dream.  It was an animal who
was outside the glass door of a place I was staying (I am not sure what
animal, but it was about the size of a Koala bear, but having a darker
coat).  It said "hi!"  How could I not let it in when it said "hi!"?
It came in and was very friendly like a dog or cat, but more
self-contained like a wild animal.  It continued to respond with
one-word answers if I queried it.  The friends I was staying with in
that place came home, wondered why I had this dangerous beast in the
house.  I said, "I know it's a wild animal, and dangerous, but it talks
to me and seems so intelligent and loving."  They laughed, not really
believing.  So I put the little guy outside--I was not afraid to pick
him up.  I told him, "come back any time and I'll let you in!"  He
said, "yes."    The people I was staying with were Unitarians from my
long-ago pagan days.

Maybe this is one of the animals spoken of when the Bible says "and the
lion shall lie down with the lamb".
