There is a big difference between a born again believer who sins, and a sinner who claims to be born again. In Stacy's case, as in anyone's case, no one can know for sure if a sinning person is truly born again....only God knows, and the sinning person I believe has to know deep down in their spirit. If a person is truly born again, then upon becoming born again they have become a new creation.......one in which sin has no determination over their destiny. Sin will still be in their life until they are glorified, but as a new creation, its the Holy Spirit that controls their destiny, not sin. For the truly born again believer, who is sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day Christ comes for them, even though they became a permanent member of the Bride upon the moment they were saved and sealed, they still are in the flesh and therefore are subject to sin. The difference is that the sins of the Christan have already been forgiven before they even commit them. And therefore their sins cannot determine their fate. Likewise, their sins cannot in any way remove them from the Bridehood. The only thing a true Christian's sins can do is slow down their "whitening" process. Between salvation and glorification, the Holy spirit works in the lives of believers to give us power to overcome our fleshly desires. The believer's sins do not repel the Holy Spirit as do the unbeliever's unforgiven sins. Rather, they are the very reason that the Holy Spirit is working in the believer's life to make them as white as possible before the day of their glorification (The Rapture and the Judgement Seat of Christ where rewards are determined).Everyone is different. Even Christians. Just because a person becomes a Christian doesn't mean that they become like a Stepford Wife (for those who remember that movie). In general, Christians are supposed to submit their will to Christ and their ultimate desire this side of the Rapture is to have the Holy Spirit empower them to be able to overcome the sinful desires of the flesh. One of the differences between Chritians in general is that some of them have a strong and ever-present desire to submit to the work of the Holy Spirit in their life, while others are not quite as capable of relinquishing their will to the Holy Spirit's will. And the whitening process is much slower for them. But let's not forget that if they are truly born again, that their sins have no power over the Holy Spirit within them. If they are truly born again, then deep within their hearts they want to be whitened. And the Holy Spirit knows this. He understands that this particular believer is very weak when it comes to overcoming his/her own will, which is influenced by selfishness and sin's alluring qualities. And even though He has immeasurably more power over this person's own will power, He will not force this person to totally submit to Him and His work. This Christian, although truly born again, may not be quite as whitened on glorification day as another Christain may be who more easily submits their will to The Holy Spirit, but that does not mean that this Christian is not truly born again and sealed by the Spirit and a permanent part of the Body/Bride of Christ. It is the case with all truly born again Christians that the one thing that caused them to become saved in the first place was because they WANTED TO. They deep down inside wanted to give up their old life and accept God's salvation and His new life for them. And that's all it takes....to realize that you are a sinner separated from God, believe that Jesus died to forgive your sins, and accept His sacrifice on your behalf. And in doing so, you are showing God that you want to become born again. This act of wanting on our part that initially causes to ask for salvation is all that is needed. If God sees that our desire to become saved is genuine, then He will keep His promise and save us. Even though He knows that some of us will not as readily allow ourselves to become whitened as others, He still loves us just as much, and wants us because we want Him. None of the forgiven sins of our future will stop Him from keeping His promises to us once we are born again. And when Christ comes for us, He is coming for ALL of us who are truly born again, regardless of how whitened we have become while still in this world. And its nothing we as Christians do as "works" that whiten us. Its simply how much of our will that we submit to God's will that determines how white we are on glorification day. A Christian may do many things that he/she assumes are mighty works before the Lord, but that doesn't mean that those works were necessarily in God's will. And thinking that a Christain has to perform their way into Heaven is just as hindering on the whitening process as is sin. Works are not wrong as long as they are done according to the urging of the Holy Spirit. If they are done because we are just trying to please and impress God, then they are as wrong as sin.Ye, it is true...."once saved always saved." Upon salvation, if the salvation was genuine, the believer is bound for Heaven as a member of the Bridehood. How whitened they are when they stand before Christ at the Judgement Seat determines what rewards they will receive. All there will be glorified, but there will be varying degrees of whiteness. Now lets get back to the difference between a born again believer who sins, and a sinner who claims to be born again. The born again believer who sins (which is all of them) really doesn't want to sin because they know that sin is wrong, which is what led them to ask for salvation in the first place. The Holy Spirit knows their heart, knows that they don't really want to sin, and therefore will work with them in overcoming sin. Not so that they can stay born again, but so that they can be as whitened as possible when they stand before their Savior. Each Christain is different and so the degree to which the Spirit is able to whiten them is different. But its not the degree of whiteness that determines our becoming part of the Bride. We become part of the Bride because we want to be. And we wanted to be the moment we asked for salvation. And our desire to be part of the Bride will never leave us. That would be silly and absurd! Just because we cannot stop sinning doesn't mean that we want to give up our salvation!!Now some say, "So then, are you saying that when we become saved that, since we have the promise of eternal security, we can feel free to fulfill all the desires of the flesh (freely sin) knowing that we can never lose our salvation?" People who ask that question simply don't understand what salvation is all about. A person who desires to live a life of sin will not ask God for salvation. A person who claims to be a Christian and wants to live a life of sin is not a Christian. Simple as that. And that is the difference between a Christian who sins and a sinner who claims to be a Christian. The Christian who sins doesn't want to sin, while the sinner who claims to be a Chritian doesn't want to give up sin, and therefore was never born again in the first place. And even though the true Christian may sin, the Holy Spirit will work with him/her to be able to overcome the desires of the flesh. If a person claims to be a Christian and the Holy Spirit is not working in their life, disciplining them and whitening them, then that person simply is not saved and never was.We cannot determine for sure if a sinning person is truly born again. We cannot determine if the Holy Spirit is at work in their life. True, a person who seems to be living according to our idea of how a Christian is to live may lead us to more readily believe that they are truly born again. But we cannot know for sure. Remember, Satan disguises himself as an angel of light....as a wolf in sheep's clothing. Just because a person appears to be a Christian doesn't mean they are. And likewise, just because a person doesn't appear to be a true Christian doesn't mean they aren't. Only God knows the depth of our hearts. When it comes to other people, all we can do is pray for the power to discern. We need to be very discerning when it comes to fellowship. First we need to make sure that our relationship with the Holy Spirit is tight. Then we need to allow Him to bear witness within us whether what is being said or claimed by others is truly of God. I believe that we can sort of sense that a person who claims to be a fellow believer is actually one. But I don't believe we can know for sure because we cannot see into the depths of their heart. And beyond this, I believe that the Holy Spirit will draw together those who are truly saved, not so they can judge each other, but so that they can interactively learn and discern from each other.About the "lukewarm" being spewed out of Christ's mouth. I don't believe that God divides true Christians into catagories, like "hot," "cold," and "lukewarm," as if there are "degrees" of salvation. It is contradictory to say that a truly born again Christian is "sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption," and to say that Christ will spew some Christians out of His mouth during the Rapture. This phrase can't be referring to true Christians, as if there will be a dividing of the Body of Christ. And why would Jesus prefer a "cold Christian" to a lukewarm one? Why would the lukewarm one be vomitted out and not the cold one? It has to be referring to people other than Christians. The Laodicean Church has to be referring to believers following the Rapture, i.e. tribulation saints. And the spewing will not occur at the Rapture of the Church of course, but rather at the Second Coming....when its decided who will enter the Kingdom and who won't. When the Trib. Saint refuses to take the mark of the beast and is killed, that assures them of not being spewed (these are the hot ones). But when Jesus returns in the Second Coming, there will be those who wanted to go to Heaven, but were unable to refuse the mark of the beast out of weakness or fear or the desire to live in the new world order. They will try to convince Christ that they truly desire to be with Him in His Kingdom, and they may really desire this. But because they couldn't endure being killed for their witness, and accepted the mark of the Beast, they are considered lukewarm and will be vomitted out of His mouth. God would rather the Trib Saint be hot (willing to die for Him), or cold (proudly admit that they would rather live for the beast than die for Christ.) The hot and cold ones have the guts to stake their claim. The ones who try to have it both ways (the Beast's kingdom and Christ's Kingdom) are the ones who get spewed because they sicken Him.
