Doves:Oh this is a real CLASSIC! Really tells ya what true morons there are running the political system! People don't have the money to pay hundreds of dollars a month for health insurance, so now they are gonna be FINED cause they can not afford insurance? Who's on first? Are we losing our minds??? Adding insult to their humiliation? The insurance companies have priced their policies so high that no one in their right mind can AFFORD the insurance not even the upper working class or the yuppies ---So what makes the government think they are going to be able to afford the FINES? Health care has become such a cash cow, even people with insurance can't afford to be SICK because they can't afford the Huge CO-PAYS AND DEDUCTIBLES and time off work (you know the JOB they have to keep just to KEEP their insurance!?) Only a true idiot would come up with a plan like this! Duh! Why don't they just round up everyone who can't afford health insurance and stick them in prison with the REAL criminals - oh - I forgot --- the REAL criminals aren't in jail - they've all posted bond and had their sentences reduced - they are the ones out running the streets committing murder, robbery, rape, abuse, and drug deals. Hooray - what a great and wonderful system of justice we truly have! And now someone wants to cap it all off by fining the poor people who can not afford health care insurance. Truly - America is an INSANE ASYLUM run by the INMATES!!!!!!Here's a proposition. For every illegal alien that makes it across the unsecured border INTO the U.S. illegally, fine the Department of Homeland Security $1200. and make sure that they return the alien to their own "beloved" fatherland. Take those $1200. fines (and they will really ADD UP very QUICKLY!), put them in a trust fund (managed by the Counties, NOT the feds) for people who can NOT afford insurance and dole the money out to those CITIZENS of the US who are here LEGALLY so that they can get insurance policies. PROBLEM SOLVED! Actually, you might even get enough fines to start a brand NEW insurance company that would be just for those who can't afford any sort of coverage from the other insurance companies who are bleeding the rest of us dry. This would be a start toward causing competition in pricing between the insurance companies (they all seem to be in kahoots right now) so that the prices of their policies are forced to become reasonable and acceptable! The government needs to look at all the price gouging going on in the health care system as well --- citizens are virtually being gouged with absurd prices. Go to an ER - have a Dr. spend 2 minutes with you, perform no diagnostic test- give you a pill, send you home and charge you $600. for his/her 2 minutes of work. This is absurd, yet Americans tolerate this kind of gouging every day of their lives! Government needs to look at these prices across the board. What for example, is a REASONABLE price to pay for a tonsillectomy? Well, if it costs $800. in Utica, New York, it should NOT cost $3800. in Salt Lake City, Utah for the same procedure. If a one night stay in a hospital on a medical wing costs $1200 in Birmingham, the same situation and scenario should NOT cost $2400 for one night on a medical wing in Dallas! Oh - I know that they have done studies on these price thingy's and comparisons are made by many insurance companies and that is why they have PAR and NON-Participating hospitals that they work out these gritty dark little deals with - you use us - you get cheaper rates, etc. etc or we won't pay your bill. Uh-huh --- It's ALL A RACKET!!!! Then after that, they need to form a committee to look at the ridiculous high prices of prescription meds in the US as compared to Canada. If the US pharmaceutical companies will not lower their prices as the Canadians have, then, I say NAFTA should apply to Canada on pharmaceuticals and let the Canadians start opening up pharmacies IN THE US! How's that for a little "friendly" competition??? Well shucks - CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid and the rest of them might just have to mark their $40. pills back down closer to the $2.00 that THEY had to pay for them and dumping a few of their 600% mark-up items? Ya think? Nothing like a little competition.ReneP.S. (Say - I just solved 2 major problems right there ---maybe I should run for president! Hardy-har-har!!!!!) (YAWN)Would you other doves vote for me??
P.S. Hey speaking of which, I have a solution to the oil crisis too - !!will post at another time!
