"EAR's note re John the Baptist"
EAR - I agree with your notes regarding John
the Baptist. Ted is taking words like "least" and wresting them way out
of context. And as for little children not getting into heaven - we know
that children are innocent until they reach the age of accountability.
Jesus referred to his disciples once as "little children" - he knew they
had all accepted him (except for Judas who had already plotted to betray
him and whom he called a devil), but we also know that in all other references
where he was speaking of "little children" - it was literally "little children"
(young physically) that he was referring to. These little ones, many of
whom are too young to even know what the kingdom of heaven is, let alone
receive it "as a little child," go to be with Him immediately if they die
before the age of accountability. Jesus said forbid them not to come to
me. To refer to this as some sort of yo-yo salvation is totally preposterous.
There is nothing yo-yo about it. And to say that there will be little children
in hell is absurd and hints of baptizing babies in order to "save" them,
which is Catholic doctrine and not found in scripture.
