I disagree with your comments about David dancing before the Lord and God punishing him for doing so.
I do not believe David was dancing in the nude as you surmise, but probably with no covering on his chest and a towel or shirt-type garment wrapped about this waist. Not particularly appropriate for a King's covering, but he was dancing in joy before God and the ark. He was oblivious to everyone and was dancing before God and I believe his dancing before God PLEASED God. Mical made fun of this worship, which angered God, so it was MICAL that was punished, NOT DAVID. MicaL was told she would never have children (a curse for a woman married to the King). Be sure that if you are watching OTHERS worship God with song, dance and instrument, YOU do not scorn or make fun of them . We are told it is GOD they are worshipping not us, and it is up to God to determine if the worship pleases Him. Better yet, don't be a worship spectator! WORSHIP God yourself with song, praise, stringed instruments, clapping and the dance (as David).
