"To celebrate or not celebrate..."

To my brothers and sisters in Yahshua...

I realize there are many brothers and sisters (in the Lord) who insist that it's wrong to celebrate Easter, Christmas, etc., due to the fact that they were spun from pagan practices, but I'm here to tell you that if you are truly Father Yahweh's child, you are not condemned for practicing your holidays as you feel led, nor are you in error for NOT practicing them!  Here are a few things that He Himself has to say about this practice:

Those Scriptures sound pretty clear to me.  My precious Richard (my husband of 12 years) doesn't like to celebrate them because they are spun off from pagan practices, but as I've tried to explain to him, that's not the reason I like to celebrate them, and why my family likes to celebrate them.  I have made some concessions, however.  I will not put up a Christmas tree because of the very specific verse that tells us not to (Jeremiah 10-3,4).  And I call Easter "Resurrection Day".  But my Mom and Dad, who are definitely born again, God-loving Christians, celebrate both, because they grew up celebrating them, as did most of us.

And I'm also here to tell you that when the trump sounds, my Mom, Dad, Richard, and I will all be with the Lord throughout eternity, and when we stand before His Throne, He is not going to dress us down for celebrating or not celebrating holidays!

We need to spend MUCH less time condemning our brothers and sisters in Yahshua for what they believe or don't believe, and more time on giving the Gospel to a lost and dying world.  If they are truly born of the Spirit, they are saved, not condemned.

Love you all in Him!

Peggy
