"Put oil in my lamp, keep it burning......How to."
This is an old Christian song. Today we are told it is irrelevant by some, that we do not need to prepare, clean house, stay awake or be ready. That is a lie.
How to have oil put in your lamp.
If you listen and do what the Holy spirit is telling you to do.
He will put oil in your lamp.
If you forgive others and apologize to others.
He will put oil in your lamp.
If you pay back the debts you owe, the ones you have been ignoring.
He will put oil in your lamp.
If you tithe to the church so the gospel can be spread to the unsaved.
He will put oil in your lamp.
If you pray for your enemies and the unsaved.
He will put oil in your lamp.
If you yield to Jesus and give him your habitual sin.
He will put oil in your lamp.
If you stop complaining and criticizing.
He will put oil in your lamp.
etc etc
Got oil?---------------------From: Marilyn AgeeTo Frank MolverRe: More on "Put oil in my lamp, keep it burning......How to."Hi:Here is more on how wise virgins can increase the level of the oil of the Holy Spirit in us.2 Peter 1:4-11 says, "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE (i.e., oil of the Holy Spirit), having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind (like the lukewarm Laodiceans), and cannot see afar off (Heaven), and hath forgotten that he was purged from his OLD SINS (i.e., wiped off the slate when we accept Christ). Wherefore the rather, brethren (i.e., believers), give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. "It is my understanding that old sins are under the blood when we accept Christ, but new sins after that need to be confessed to also bring them under the blood of Christ. This is how the Tribulation saints wash their robes in the blood of Christ. Rev. 7:14 says, "These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."I John 1:4-9 says, "these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness (i.e., no sin) at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."We want to be called, and chosen and faithful.Mt. 20:16 says, "many be called, but few chosen. Mt. 22:14 says, "For many are called, but few are chosen."Right after the Pre-Trib Rapture, Rev. 17:14 says of Christ, "he is Lord of lords, and King of kings', then adds, "and they that ARE WITH HIM are called, and chosen, and faithful."
