Today I read in the library (popular science ?) that you only get 25% more energy from corn than it takes to make the  corn into ethanol fuel ........
 
However you get over 500%  more energy from SAWGRESS  than it takes to make  sawgress into ethanol fuel....
 
maybe we could run our cars on  our lawn clippings  :)
