"Encouragement in the Night"
Dear John and Doves,
In response to Shelva's encouragement for us to share
what the Lord has been saying to us, I am going to share this brief encounter
in the middle of the night a week or so ago.
It was unique in my experiences with the Lord and unmistakably
from the Holy Spirit in my humble opinion. I was aware in the middle
of the night that I was overcome with a sense of grief for the state of
Christians not watching and the non Christians. It was a deep sense
of mourning for their choices and the consequences of those choices.
Then there was a sense of sorrow for how hard the past few years have been
for us as watchers in our personal circumstances of "impossibilities".
The next awareness was with the words, "I KNOW how hard the past few years
have been for you, but it is over." With those words came a gentle
flooding peace and closure that "it IS over". The next morning the
business of "occupying" met me as usual in the demands of the day and the
flooding peace preceded by the deep sorrow were gone.
The emotions were exactly those that I had felt in a
dream vision that the Lord had given me in the early nineties. He
and I were walking side by side in total oneness of thought and feeling
along the beach. We looked back over our shoulders to the people
we were leaving, there was a deep sorrow for the consequences of their
choices that were about to come. But even as we looked back in sorrow,
we were drawn to what was ahead in the deep joy of eternal oneness.
The feelings were clearly those of a bride facing her future with the bridegroom.
May it be so this spring, Jesus!!!
