"Colonel Case still needs
prayer"
Dear friends:
On March 6, I requested urgent prayer for WW II hero Colonel Richard Case, age 88, who was in a deep coma from a choking incident.
On March 16, I happily passed on an initial report that he had awakened.
That last report was based on a misunderstanding by my source and turns out not to be completely true.
Yesterday I spoke with Colonel Case's daughter who says that he did, in fact, open his eyes, but he is not responsive. He does not appear to be actually conscious.
They are having a family meeting in the next day or two to decide what to do. I urged her not to "pull the plug" from life support. I told her about my 12-year-old niece, Charlene, who had brain encephalitis in the mid-1990s and was in a coma a long time. The doctors told the parents they had no hope and urged her to allow them to pull the plug. I got on the telephone with the mother and urged her not to pull the plug and told her I would marshal an army of prayer warriors to interceded for her recovery. I did. Some of you may have been among the many praying for Charlene.
A couple of weeks later, Charlene suddenly raised up and exclaimed, "Where's daddy? I'm hungry!"
She remained conscious, got steadily better, and went back to school. She was recently married! Left to the medical professionals, she would have been dead many years ago.
Thanks to all of you who have prayed for Colonel Case. Please continue praying for him, that he would suddenly "snap out of it" and awaken to full consciousness.
Thanks, and God bless you.
Jim
