Though it is true all nations have their own share of sin. America is a bit different. We know that Israel will be isolated, the US is its powerful ally. Something has to happen. America has done much good in the world, but it is getting more and more a past issue, we can't rely on our past accomplishments. We can not hide from the fact we are guilty of some great sin and are guilty of leading the world into rebellion against God. If you don't realize that you will not realize why these difficult things will transpire. God sent his prophets to prosperous Israel, few listened. Same thing today. We are the most powerful nation on earth and we have become deceived by it. God wants us all to be saved, so he is going to shake us up abit to get our eyes back on him. This means us Christians individually and even our whole nation and the many nations of the doves.
