The parables are realy simple simple stories that paint easily understandable word pictures.
Please, if we are Christians, we can't pick and choose which scriptures we like and discard the ones that we find uncomfortable. All the word of God is for us and especialy the New Testement. Though Jesus came through the Jews everything he said was for all of us. He is God of us all. THe Jews have the same way to God that we do now that Jesus came. Everyone goes through the gate of Jesus.
 
How is it that we can be enlightened that Jesus created and sustains all the universe, but somehow he is incapable of maintaining his word? We don't know which parables are for us or when they were written? You might believe that but I sure don't. Its all for us.
