To know who we are in Christ is the key to moving away from the baggage of the past. Repentance, when we decide to move on is required. Repentance does not mean we just acknowledge our shortcomings, it means we take action and live God's way and stop living the way that brings death. We may have to cry out to God for deliverance or we may just have to humble ourselves and start allowing God to be number one in our lives.
 
Jesus tells us to be ready, to not be caught unaware. To be unaware means we are distracted by the things of this world. This world has caught our attention and we are only paying partial attention to Christ. He is calling for separation so that we will be clean and a prepared bride. Thats calling us to a higher place which means repentance from living worldly. This is not works it is obedience. Obedience is love. He is looking for a some one who will love him more than this world. That is the faith he is looking for.
