Dear Doves,
My pap test done on 2/29 came back with normal results which means I don't have cancer of the cervix. However, the pap test doesn't check for cancer of the uterus. So my gynecologist also did an internal ultrasound on 2/29 to check for any abnormalities of the uterus. The doctor told me yesterday on 3/14 that the ultrasound showed that the lining of my uterus is too thick for a woman of my post menopausal age group. She said the lining is 1 cm. thick when it should only be 1/3 of that thickness so she performed a biopsy yesterday to see if it's cancerous or not cancerous. She said would call me when they have the results of the biopsy. Please pray that it is not cancer. Depending on what the test results of the biopsy are, will determine what is to be done next. I have been doing some research, and there is a condition called Endometrial Hyperplasia which is "a condition that occurs when the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows too much. It is a benign (not cancer) condition" according to the link at http://www.medem.com/MedLB/article_detaillb.cfm?article_ID=ZZZ7Z2GWQMC&sub_cat=9 Hopefully I will not have cancer, but please keep me in your prayers.
My mammogram results showed an area which they believe is benign, but they want to do a diagnostic mammogram in 6 months of both breasts and a breast sonogram of the right breast as I have calcifications, and they want to look for any changes in 6 months that might indicate cancer or not. The problem is that I haven't had a mammogram since Dec. of 1989 (they no longer have it), and they don't have any previous mammogram to compare the mammogram with that they took on 3/06 for any changes. I'm not going to worry now about the 6 month mammogram, but please pray that I don't have cancer of the breast. The good news is that my husband decided after all to go to his doctor's appointment on 3/12, and no lump remains in my husband's neck. The doctor doesn't have to see him again. Praise the Lord that the lump is completely gone and that he didn't have a recurrence of Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer. Thank you once again for your prayers for my husband.
