ANTICIPATING ISAAC’S ARRIVAL
(Revival is coming - a new beginning!)
Recently I preached a word in the (small) Pentecostal church that I attend under the title Anticipating Isaac’s arrival! I believe that we are on the threshold of rapidly evolving events that taken together are an Isaac - the fulfilment of His promises and the consummation of the ages in Jesus Christ! I live with the expectation of His Return to meet us in the air, but until that time I believe that there will be stronger and more frequent birth pains - and a mix of judgment and revival. The notes below, though somewhat cryptic, may be of interest to doves. This revival may help to explain why the United States and other countries (like my own country Australia) appear to be missing in end time events - the revival may bring many more ‘fish’ from these countries into the end times harvest net! For your reflection.
One important truth - God will fulfil the promises of His Word. His treasure is our faith in His promises! John 8: 56 Abraham was extremely happy at the hope and prospect of seeing My day (My incarnation) - and he did see it and was DELIGHTED. A walk through the life of Abraham - let’s start at the Lord’s promise that Isaac was about to be born
Genesis 18: 1-16 Three men - one an epiphany of the Lord appeared to Abraham (verses 1 and 2). Two messages - First, that Isaac was about to be born (in a year’s time!) God had promised Abraham a child through Sarah - now the child’s birth was imminent! The second message was that judgment was coming to Sodom and Gomorrah! This is a prophetic picture of today - revival is imminent and judgment is imminent! 11-14 The impossibility of God’s promise - headline in magazine - 99 year old man and 90 years old woman expecting child! Some birth notice! Miracle that their marriage lasted!
Can we really believe for a revival - one that would eclipse all other revivals of the past (all rolled together), a revival that would usher in the coming of Jesus? The answer is in verse 14: Is anything too hard or too wonderful for the Lord? Abraham’s precious faith! Romans 4:18-21 Human reason for hope being gone - hoped in faith - did not weaken in faith - the utter impotence of his body - which was as good as dead - no distrust made him waiver - empowered by faith - assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and do what He had promised!. This is how God viewed Abraham - one who continued to believe God’s Word, against impossible odds. He didn’t even mention his two stumbles! First, having Ishmael (God saved Hagar and Ishmael in the desert!) Genesis 17: 5, 15 – 19 I will give you a son by Sarah! O that Ishmael might live before You! Isaac is born!!! Genesis 21: 1 - 3 The Lord did for her as He had promised!!
Upper room - almost all had let Jesus down!! God today is promising revival, and warning of judgment! We may not know when, or where - but I know what the anthem of the true revival will be - Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live. Christ lives in me. Surrendering what God has promised - Genesis 22:7-9, 13-14 Jehovah Jireh!! Once bound Isaac was completely surrendered to the will of his father!! This is hard!! If Isaac had died - Rebecca wouldn’t have had a husband and many of us wouldn’t be here!
Looking ahead at the mountain tops -Rapture T-shirts left behind (I am crucified with Christ on the front – nevertheless I live on the back!! Seven years later - Jesus Christ will return, Israel will finally accept their suffering Messiah - and all the nations will be blessed through Abraham’s Seed! AS PROMISED!!
ISAIAH 42:10 Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise from the end of the earth! You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it! The islands and coastal regions and the inhabitants of them [sing a song such as has never been heard in the heathen world]!
DAVID WILKERSON - THE LAST REVIVAL (Excerpt)
Even now, we are seeing the beginnings of the last revival, as Acts 2:17 is being fulfilled.
"It shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams" (Acts 2:17). In all my years of ministry, I have never been able to envision this prophecy happening in our day. Now I believe it is being fulfilled. In nations everywhere, Christ is revealing himself to multitudes in dreams and visions. In China, India and Arab nations, people are reporting their experiences with Jesus in dreams. Even here at Times Square Church it is happening. One of our church¹s security men was once New York¹s third-highest-ranking high priest in Santeria devil worship. His territory was the Bronx, and his apartment was filled with human bones. He had sold himself body and soul to Satan. But this man¹s heart was stirred by the Holy Spirit. He became restless, and one night he challenged Jesus, "If you are stronger than the devil I serve, show me in a dream tonight."
That night in a dream, the man saw himself on a train bound for hell. As it passed through a tunnel, on the other side stood Satan. The devil told the man, "You have been faithful to me. Now I¹m taking you to your eternal resting place." Then suddenly, a cross appeared. At that moment, the man woke up.
He came out of that experience on fire for Jesus, rid his apartment of every trace of evil, and gave his life to the Lord. Today, he is a sweet, devout man of God and is active in our church. I stopped him recently and told him, "I see Jesus in you." He answered, "Brother Dave, you don¹t realize what those words mean to me after twenty-five years of serving the devil." His miraculous new life had all come out of that God-given dream.
