"Re: "Watch TV tonight re: rich preachers""

It is interesting to me when the so-called "investigative report" TV programs reveal things that are against what we believe in, we call them anything from deceived to biased to out-right liars. But when they go after some of the brethren with whom we have some differences in methods and beliefs, we champion these very same programs and reporters as being not only factual but also containing needed revelation.

Why are we so disposed to reject some of the reporting that we disagree with but yet are ready to accept each word of what they report on other subjects? We need to greatly exercise caution in accepting these reports as being factual. I am sure that ministers do make mistakes. However, we must ask ourselves what we KNOW to be accurate, not what some biased TV or newspaper reporter is telling us. It can push us into being judgmental when we should be loving. Perhaps if we cannot be loving, we should just leave it alone and not jump on the bandwagon with those who believe that they have a life calling to tear down the brethren and ministries with whom they have major differences.

If you read the thread that was referenced in "Watch TV tonight re: rich preachers" (http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=297335 ), you will find it very caustic against some Christian ministries, yet a cheerleading session for the recent 20/20 report on ABC. I have read other posts on that same forum that have said that 20/20 is a vile program biased against Christians. I guess it just depends. When we agree with a subject it HAS to be factual and when we disagree, its a pack of lies. I have a good rule of thumb. If it is a secular program attacking any professing Christians, I will absolutely not come into agreement with them or spread their message because I do not KNOW the truth. I just simply won't go there even if I do not agree with the minister's apparent methods and lifestyle.

We are all watching for the Great Blessed Hope and tell each other that we will "see ya in the air". Let's not put ourselves in the position of finding that our "wingman" as we go up is a minister that these secular reporters tried to destroy and we were cheering the reporters along.
