"RE: Galatians 3:17 and the Confirmed Covenant"

Dear Michael deKruif and Doves,

Thank you for your contribution.

When I read Gal 3:14-17 last year (2006), I understood those verses to mean that no one can put aside or add to a human covenant that has been established procedurally and/or confirmed. Therefore, the covenant (between God and Abraham) previously established by God could not be set aside by the law.

In the natural we see human beings taking advantage of the fact that a human covenant can not be put aside. For instance, Security Council Resolution 242 and 338 resulted in Madrid conference in 1991 which also resulted in Cairo agreement in 1996 which also resulted in the Saudi (Arab) peace plan in March 2002. This year (2007) the same peace plan is presented to Israel so that Israel can accept it.

(Refer to http://www.al-bab.com/arab/docs/league/peace02.htm) for Arab peace plan.

Note that Saudi/Arab peace plan was pronounced to Israel and the world in March 2002 while President Bush’s Vision was pronounced in June 2002.

Question: How different is the Saudi peace plan from President Bush’s Vision? Is there no coordination between the initiators of the two plans? According to both initiators who is the victim whom they intend to channel resources to? Who will be the main beneficiary in the two plans? Are the two plans working towards or against the covenant between God and Abraham?

God bless you.

Simon.
