"153 Fish"

Dear John,
In the sermon at church today, our minister spoke on John 21:11-12 which reads:

11 Simon Peter climbed aboard and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast."

The first thing to stand out to me was this:  153.  Unbelievably, April 8th is exactly 153 days after November 7th!  Coincidence?  Remember, now:  I'm the one who is mathematically challenged, so this was a REAL revelation to me.  Oh, how God takes the foolish things of this world to get His point across (meaning me, of course)  :)

Next, I realized that Jesus asked Peter THREE TIMES if Peter loved Him.  Also, John, Chapter 21 is 7 x 3 (isn't "7" a special number or something, meaning perfection, I think?).

This happened "early in the morning" because Jesus said they were to "Come and have breakfast."  This would indicate to me that early could be the "firstfruits" of the day.

Also:  What if the verse "the dead in Christ shall rise first" could mean that the Rapture of the "dead" takes place on 4/5 or 4/6 and maybe the rest of us follow three days later (as when Jesus arose three days later) on April 8th.

Of course, these are just my random thoughts, and I'm sure you will have more interesting additions to these numbers.  Anyway, I am humbled and excited at the same time.  Awesome!

YsiC, Rhonda

Thanks, Rhonda. There were 153 persons who received direct blessings from Jesus in the Gospels! See link.
