I am amazed at so many responses to your questions about the animals in the Last Days.  I believe the passage quoted a few times by others is a good reference and also in Ezekiel 38-39 the birds of the air are assigned to consume the dead bodies on the hills in Israel.
 
I hope you enjoy a cute story.  It was when I lived in Southern CA and teaching children's church.  I brought in a leash I bought at Knotts Berry Farm.  This leash went around the dog's body and it's snout.  However, it was an invisible dog.  The leash was stiff and extended out to look like you were actually walking an invisible dog.
 
I used it as a visual aide in my lesson for that Sunday.  Of course the kids loved it and my Adult Pastor came by to look at it.  He chuckled and said he was going to let his wife know that this was the only kind of dog he would allow in their home.
 
After church his wife came running up to me to see this most wonderful dog and to her surprise she saw the leash with no real dog present.  Of course she was flustered and went to find her husband.  Others, of course, knowing my sense of humor, asked if I had given the invisible dog a name. I said, "Of course, the dog's name is Doggone it, short for "Dog is gone".
